Wife got hit on the freeway in the CX-7 :(

I noticed that too about my 07 6 rental (when I first bought my CX-7 it had warped rotors). The a/c would JUST barly keep it cool. But then I also thought of the fact that the windows did not have tint. Makes an oven out of the car.

I just got into a Murano...so now its long-term comparison time :)
On the note of the Murano, CVT transmissions turn me off so much, the one in the Murano at least. Unbearable to drive.

It is a Murano S AWD so its not nearly as luxurious as our CX-7 GT inside or out. The CVT seems to really push for fuel economy over response but that disappears if you toss it into sport mode. It has more room inside as well. I'm not fond of the long dash that stretches way out to the front of the car. Finally, it took me a while to get comfortable. The seats and pedals are power but it just took me a long time to find the sweet driving spot and once my wife drives it, it'll probably take me a long time again. I'll have more later. We're going to have this car for a while. The body shop called me and said there is another delay on some sort of rear bumper bracing. I guess that's what I get for getting a car that more or less "just came out."

The only thing that would really turn me off would be the heavy understeer of an awd. Maybe good for others, but not my style.

...up to $10,300 and looking at a completion date of mid-July...

Update on the Murano...after driving it more, I feel that it does lack response in the go-pedal and it probably is due to that CVT. The car also feels very heavy to move around. Steering is heavy and the engine seems like it strains at some points. It just doesn't have that light, airy, tossable feel the CX-7 has. Gas mileage has been ok though. I reset the fuel economy computer in it as soon as I got it and between my wife and I driving, we're averaging 20.2 mpg over 4 tanks.

Whats the update on your car?

It was in paint last week and assembly this week. I'm told it should be done tomorrow but we'll see. I hope it comes out well. I'll give everyone an update after I crawl around underneath it and look at it from all angles! :)

Just got the car back...$10,600 later!! All is well though. It looks great, you can't even tell it was in an accident and the paint match is spot-on! This body shop also gave me a garauntee for life so if there is a problem, they'll take care of it.
