Why is the CP-E downpipe so expensive seeming?

Is it a downpipe & midpipe sold together? I would't think it overpriced if so.

I am considering this downpipe & exhaust combo (and have been for a while) and will actually do something about it in the spring. So anyone who's got info or has the full CP-E exhaust, I'm asking you..

Spring seems like the time to do it. The car will be garaged from 11/31 to 3/31 and the money I saved on lowering my insurance coverage for that period was enough to get in on the group buy of the PG turbo manifold, so the exhaust has to wait. Again.

I second that its both down pipe and mid pipe in one. I ordered the CPE turbo back which includes their catback and down/mid pipe. I opted for the hi-flow cat. I looked down the sensor bung and was able to see some of the internals of the cat. It looks like there's a lot of crud covering about half of the surface area inside the mesh. I'm assuming that crap gets burnt off after a few miles. Is that a good assumption, or is the cat f'ed up and completely restricting flow over that portion? (scratch) Not installing it until spring time so can't give any impressions of the system.

Ah, so it IS a downpipe/midpipe combo. Cool.. I wonder if the CP-E downpipe & exhaust, combined with the PG turbo manifold and existing MS CAI are enough mods to require a tuning solution, which I'm trying to put off as long as I can.

Maybe just a CDFP upgrade, but I'd get that installed before I ran hard at all. The CDFP upgrade seems to support additional flow without the need to control it via a tuning solution. Time will tell.

Well to answer my own question about the crap in the cat, I had a chance to look at it again as its just sitting uninstalled in the corner of my garage until spring time, and looks as if a spark from the welding probably flew inside the cat and started to mar the mesh inside because I could see a black circle where it landed inside about the size of a penny. I'm going to make another assumption that after the exhaust breaks in, the entire internal mesh will look the same, as hot exhaust gases will be escaping through it anyways. I just hope that it doesn't throw a cel come install time. Since the area in question is so close to the second O2 sensor it just gets me a little worried, but I'm sure I'm just paranoid....right??
