Why I'm starting to HATE my Mp5

Ok, i'm gonna get hated beyond a doubt for this post but I have to post this because it's driving me crazy:

I almost got into an accident today due to a stupid driver who cut me off while making a turn. She cut into my lane and i slammed on my brakes. Out or road rage, I floored it to catch up to her to give her the FINGER for being such a STUPID driver.

While i was doing this, i was using my sport shift, and from 1st to 2nd, it wouldn't shift at my command. I wanted to shift at 5,000 rpms, but it kept going even though I COMMANDED it to shift.

Well it finally shifted but at PAST redline. :mad: :wtf:

This delay probably caused my engine some major Stress.. :'(

On on top of that, my AC, even though i turned it on for the past 1.5 hours so it could be cool, still wasn't cool! It was shooting off HOT air. :wtf:

FIrst the near accident now the AC... Only caused me to be even more :mad:

While i was driving i saw Subaru WRXs, one silver STi, two 350zs, honda civic hatchback... I realized all these cars must be hella better than my car...

Crap.. sorry to be a hater, but damn.... i'm pissed!

under that load especially with the AC on it will NOT shift when you want it to. It measures load from your lead foot. lift off the throttle a little next time and you wont have any issues.

re: your AC, was the temperature all the way turned to the cold setting? and was your AC button pushed? and was the car recycling the air or getting it vented in?

re: not shifting when you want it to, i think you have some false expectations of this automatic. first off, switching your car from D to M does not make it some secret rice rocket that all of a sudden will lose its automatic sluggishness and turn into a real sequential manual transmission. going from D to M means you have SOME control over shift points, but being that it's still an automatic, it will shift when the computer can shift, not when you want it to shift. if you switch from D to M and was already in 1st, you gotta give it a couple seconds before you can shift to second. now if you were in 2nd and downshifted to 1st, then wanted to shift back into 2nd, again, it takes some time. it's not a manual. you can't shift the car when as fast as you want to. but it will shift as fast as it can. there will always be a delay.

i agree with tonka auto depend on the car's computer and it has slippage and it lags a lil soo if u want it to shift on DEMAND get a manual thats y allot of ppl get manual to race in cause u can shift when ya want and how ya want

you listed the civic Si, WRX, and 350Z......hmmmm.....if you could AFFORD those, you wouldnt be driving a MP5. MP5 is the best for the money.

I raced my car with protege 5spd and his car easily beat me.

I must chime in here since everybody seems to be talking down to the guy...

Now, I can understand that the three variables used in conjunction will decrease the response of the car, I have had the same issues with the sport shift.

I dont use it all the time, and I rarely use the A/C (window person). My car, under semi-hard acceleration will not shift into second until the needle is bouncing at 7000 rpm. Now, this would be after 3 shift attempts. The only thing that I can do to fix it is to not accelerate so quickly, or just shift at no higher that 5500rpm to give it time to shift.

But yeah, take care of your car man, its a good one for what we pay for them. I love mine

Go on and buy a BMW M3 with SMG, or an MR2 (SMG) that's about as cloose (and chepeast) real auto-manual you can get, otherwise ... deal with it.

You should probably thank your car for not letting you catch up to her to give her the finger. She could've been some sort of psycho looking for a fight, or even could have slammed on her brakes to make you rear-end her car.

Stupid drivers like her deserve all of our scorn, but giving in to road rage can put you on a slippery slope. :mad: I know that too many times I've honked my horn or given the finger or otherwise tried to express my anger. 99% of the time, that's the end of it, but too many stressed-out, pissed-off, or just plain psycho people are out there driving. If you fight back, those people may just want to keep messing with you. This board is actually turning out to be a great place to vent about those idiots, although delayed venting is hardly as satisfying as instant reaction.

Also, like the other folks are saying, don't hate your car because the transmission did not act like a manual. Go ahead and hate your transmission, or give your self a kick
for not buying a 5 sp. All transmissions have their drawbacks...

My AC does that all the time on a 4 mo. old 2003 P5. It's like it has a mind of it's own although once it gets cold it usually stays cold. But every once in a while it takes a few minutes before the cold air starts pumping regarless of the settings. This really sucks when it's super hot outside... hmmm... I smell TSB.
