This is what happens when you mess around.....The pics say it all
For those who can't tell.....look at how far back the wheel is in the fender well

I may have to change my quote to "Freinds don't let friends drive DUMB" :(

GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS...

BAD:
YOU HIT A CURB AND BENT THE A-ARM AND THE CONNECTING ROD FOR THE SWAY BAR AND DAMAGED A RIM. THATS ABOUT $1000 RETAIL IN PARTS INCLUDING THE TIRE.

GOOD:
TO YOUR KNOWLEGDE EVERY PIECE UNDER THAT CAR COULD BE DAMAGED AND OBVIOUSLY ITS NOT. FACT BEING THAT NOONE CAN TELL FOR SURE. SO HERES MY ADVICE. MAKE FRIENDS WITH OMEONE AT A BODY SHOP AND WRITE THIS THING FOR MAJOR DAMAGE. tHE SWAY BAR ALONE IS $750. NOT TO MENTION THE SPRING/STRUT/CALIPER/ROTOR/ETC. WRITE UP $5000 WORTH, POCKET THE REST AND BUY THE TURBO...

OUCH!!!   :(
DAMN MAN! What the HECK!
That sucks something awful. Hope you can do what he said though, that would make it all worth it. :D

Ok, hopefully this won't be as bad as I had thought originally. The rim, although in bad condition, still kept it's shape. No bends at all. After this incident I will no longer question the strenth of Racing Hart wheels. I took my car over to wheelguru (Sean) and he was kind enough to take a look at it. From what he could see (and me too), the only thing holding the wheel in the position it's in is the lower control arm bar, which I was lucky enough to find a used one at a yard today for $100. Yay :D

Now all I have to do to get the car rolling again and hopefully have it drivable is install the lower control arm bar then get an alignment. That should make the car driveable somewhat. Of course I will need a new sway bar bracket and have the brakes turn possibly, but those are minor problems. Best thing of all.......no body damage what so ever. :p I'm not worried about the rim since I plan on buying new ones eventually and I'm not planning on going to any shows.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

:(

To answer how this happened... I was making a normal, usually easy left turn down my street. I decided to put my head up my arse and try to make the turn more fun by giving the car some gas into the turn, letting off for a split second, then yanking the wheel to the left and getting on the gas again at the sametime. Needless to say, the car decided to do otherwise and went straight into the curb while my steering wheel was yanked to the left still. The pics are a result of a few brief second of agony. :(

Maybe I should have let off the gas a little sooner and broke a little less. hehe :D Ohwell, I'm still alive and my car has no body damage. I'll just be out of commission for a couple of days.

Someone should have smacked before I got in my car and reminded me not to drive DUMB

Hey, man...it's understandable...you were just tryin' to have fun. Nonetheless that REALLY sucks. I feel for you man. But hey, at least you have valve caps on YOUR rims. Hehe. I'm glad to hear you got that part replaced though. What was it off of, a standard Protege?

That sucks but it's ok. You should have seen me when I got my integra. That was when I was still living in NJ. Well, it snow shortly after I got it and I think you can figure out the rest. I was trying to be funny and scare my friend's little sister. Well I think I was more scared when I hit the curb. Thankfully only the rim was bent. That taught me a lesson about snow. DON'T DRIVE STUPID IN SNOW!

Hey Apexi...when you get new rims...can u sell me your valve covers and caps?

i was driving home late last night and took a route with some massive twisties at some dumb speeds and the back wheels kicked out a little bit...that was not a nice feeling. luckily i didn't spin out and wrap my baby around a tree. it took about 10 minutes for the adrenaline to wear off. :)

in other words i agree...don't drive dumb.

yea my back end came loose on some twisty's too, i learned that going 80 around a turn is not cool cause unlike you i spun around but luckily it stayed on the road and didn't meet any trees. lets just say i haven't sped down that road since then.
