why 250 WHP

all i can say is I WANT THAT INTAKE MANIFOLD!!!!! when are we ever going to get a replacement for our stock one?????? YOU AFTERMARKET PPL LISTEN TO ME!!!!! hehehehe

300whp would be rather easy with a T04E turbo. considering what the nissan ppl get out of the SR20DET, with enough money the FS could handle 600whp

i am trying to get wagnermotorsports to make us one. We will have one soon. A piggyback or fuel control will be needed b/c the butterfly will be removed so fuel curves will need to be adjusted.

im just dying to save up the money. i had money saved up but im getting screwed. i might have to go to the bbb. tell me how this ******* makes sense:

i refinance my car, the credit union calls mazda credit for payoff and makes check out in that amount.

i call mazda and tell them to stop my elec deduction but they try to say they cant stop it, so my account is debited 361 as usual on the first. so im like whatever ill get a check for 360 for overpaying. guess how much the check was????

19 MOTHERFUCKING DOLLARS!!! what kind of math are those ******* idiots using???????????

/rant

Sorry for the threadjacking!!!

DON'T TELL ME THIS!!! PLEASE DON'T LET ME GO THROUGH THE SAME THING!!!!!!!!!
I would be calling them every 5 seconds to go ballistic!!!
Threadjack done! MY BAD!

Well someone out there let us all know, because everyone seems to speculate, but no one truly knows. I guess we just need some heavy tuners who are willing to blow their engine! At least then we would know!

so it will be a blow-thru?

I am jsut wondering why everyone says the fs is only good to make 250 WHP ? Has anyone gone beyond that and blown up? If so, was the car properly tuned, with full stand alone, upgraded injectors, properly Monitored ? Was the timing map programmed with the increase of boost ? Were the fuel maps also programmed accordingly ?

It just dumbfounds me that everyone says this, but no concrete info, that I have found, to prove this. I believe this engine could handle 275-300 WHP, and easily 16-20 LBS of boost, with proper tuning.

I say this for the simple fact that Howell automotive, a well known Neon tuning company, has a frikin 1st gen SOHC, pumping 320+ WHP on 20 lbs of boost. That damn engine is build weaker then the FS, and handles this daily.

It is ALL about how the car is built. Lets see what I get. :D

there has been alot of time and $$ spent on that engine and tranny. Howell has been a respected Neon dealer for the last couple years..I know this cuz I used to own a Neon...now I am a happy P5 owner. if you ever saw that SOHC, it would blow your ****** mind...the entire car was run on a stand alone plus all the internal work...it was crazy looking. but you're right, its all about tuning...especially with F.I.

Im not too fimilar with that term, teach me.

he mentioned that he would like to incorporate the butterflies in the mani, but it might be possible to do without them. I have to do some resaerch on intake manifolds and VICS.

If you know how it works, tell me. I assume they open at a certain rpm.

oh, by the way, VICS is a system mazda has to reduce the length of the intake manifold runners at high rpm to generate more power. VCTS is a system where is "tumbles" the air right near the head so at cold operating temps (start up) it's environmentally friendly (aussie P5's done have VCTS).

MP3's dont either. (VTCS)

Hopefully we can get this mani made.

yep that's right...

i'd be really curious to know how they would come to the sizes of the IM runners etc. ie what rpm range they are tuned for etc

If I still had it I would, I remembered that info from the first time I saw the car

The website was from Ziel motorsports or something, and all the information was given on a testing section of both that protege and a heavily modified 350Z, both being sponsered by JIC-Magic...

They didn't mention any times, just that with high octane race fuel, and very unsafe aggresive fuel/timing maps (I guess implying they would not always use those maps) the engine wrenched the dyno's rollers at 561whp...They also didn't get into details on pieces swapped with lighter pieces, or what all was removed just that the wieght was about 2100 lbs dry with no driver ...It started life as a 2001 ES sedan, and obviously the engine is far from stock...that is pretty much all i remember about it...

Also (if the search on the pclub would ever work right I would find it) a lot of members mentioned that they had major mechanical issues eventually, and dropped the project...which may be why it is so hard to find info now...
