Who's going to Maine Forest Rally?

MAZDASPEED Rally Team USA is coming out of hibernation with the G2 race winning Protege at Maine Forest Rally July 30-31. If anyone is interested, go to www.maineforestrally.com for schedule and information.

This is round 6 of the SCCA ProRally Championship. The rally is set in the scenic mountains around Rumford, ME and meanders through western Maine and eastern New Hampshire.

Spectating is free and roads are pretty fast and a bit rough. I'd love to see a bunch of the Mazda Militia out there as we go screaming by!

Every year, something comes up where I miss MFR (And it's only like 5 hrs from me). This year no exception, but it's a good one... Going to Finland for Neste Rally Finland.

i definitely plan on going for saturday but since they had to be pains in my ass and schedule day 1 for friday i cant make it then. As is I will be driving all night friday to make it there for saturday.

Definitely a good time last year, cant wait to do it again!

I probably wont have my MSP with me for photo-ops this year tho eric, its quite a bit lower to the ground than it was last year and i dont have that much confidence in the rumford roads

I never there was Protege in Rallys... wow!
I know there is a FF category for Rally...
but do ppl modify their Protege to become 4WD/AWD? <--- i'm kinda of dumb with this stuff, so if its a stupid Q, ssorry

Nope, I'm pretty sure Eric's car is FWD still. There are some videos around of him, dunno where exactly.

there are only 2 proteges that rally, and I think some older 323s

the proteges are fwd N/A, reason being there is no awd for the protege sedan, only the p5 wagon and to turbo a 2.0 liter engine you would be put in a class with some hardcore subies as I beleive the class is 2.0-2.5l turbo

I believe eric said this will be the last year of the protege rally though and he hopes to have a 3 next year....and it is capable of awd so we shall see...

I really need to move. I am so far away from just about every US rally.. its just sad.
