??who uses 5th gear on the 1/4??

So I went to the track yesterday and my best time was 13.9 again:(

I was hoping to get a 13.7. I`ve installed a CP-E MM and and Engalls ETD since I went to the track last. ALL wheel hop has been eliminated with this setup. (The wheel hop was really, really bad last time I went to the track, I was affraid I was going to break something)

So my worst time was a 14.6 cause I decided to shift into 5th.....normal I cross the line in 4th gear redlined (13.9). I was just wondering who shifts into 5th and what are your times and trap speeds?

Going from 4th to 5th to me is the most difficult shift so I make ABSOLUTLY sure I`m in 5th and not 3rd before I dump the clutch so my shift time ends up suffering as you can see by the time difference. My trap speeds are higher by about 3 mph though when I do shift into to 5th.
 
DRKNYTE, how do you like the CP-E RMM you just got? I'm thinking about getting one myself. Did you go with 65 or 75 duro?

The CP-E RMM is the s***.... YOU WILL NOT NOW OR EVER REGRET IT:) I have the 75 Duro and have had it for about 3 months. You notice a change in the cars, accelartion(do to less wheel hop and keeping the power distrobution much more even), shifting, and the over all feel of the car! I haven't tried any other MM but I don't really think I would want to that's how good it is:) I did a lot of research on the RMMs and read just about ever thread realated to it and have yet to read anything bad..... that's not the case with other RMM. Vibs are only apparent at intial install and disipate to practically nothing in a few days.

If your getting it to COMPLETELY get rid of wheel hop you need an ETD in combonation with the CP-E RMM

I know what you mean, I went thru the traps in 4th and wondered if I should have shifted into 5th 13.96@98.85 I had bad wheel hop even with the CP-e RMM what is this other mount you talk about , cause I need this PS:: were you flat shifting 2-3 and 3-4 gearson your passes???

It's an Engine Torque Damper (ETD). I bought the one Engalls makes, in my opinion it's looks like the best contsruction out of the 3 I looked at. I still had wheel hop to with just the CP-E RMM but after I installed the ETD it was gone:) My runs on the track felt so great, the car felt really sure footed, now I just have to learn how to keep the wheels from spinning. Check out the pic....

I`m not sure what flat shifting is. But I would press the clutch, let of the gas, shift into my gear, and just before I dump the clutch I would hit the gas and just as it would reach about 5500 I would dump the clutch. (this all happens in a matter of a second keep in mind, I just tried my best to describe it). I get a good amount of bucking out of the car this way and to me it just feels like it pulls harder and faster, sometimes I get the wheels chirpping all the way through 4th:). I had a guy comment on that actucally, he's like :"I heard you chirppen the tires all the way down the track".

What tire pressure do you use in front and back? I use 26 in front and 36 in rear.

To flat shift you just keep your foot on the gas while you shift. I don't do it much but you can notice a difference.
 
Yea ,it was My first time at the track with the MS3, But I am not new to Drag racing . I have a fast street truck. Yes I am new to the whole 6speed shifting thing(headshake I forgot to pump up my rear tires but let the air out to 25 or so in the front, They had the track prepped real good with VHT, and I thought the motor was going to jump out of the engine bay on launch. Just a Cp-e cai and RMM. I am going to look into the engine dampening system where is a good place to buy it from!!! ENGALLS
