who makes the best clutch for a turbo protege?

I've had my Spec stage 2 in for about a year now and it feals like stock but holds the power down with no problems. Definatly recommend the Spec's, but I have had no other experience with other brands.

I REALLY hope that the problems had with CM have been fixed, as I have a Stage IIR CM clutch going on the car next week. :(

Yup, I bought it a while ago. Not a week later, the person who reccomended it says "DID YOU BUY A CM CLUTCH YET? I HOPE NOT!"

try sellingit ? if you do, i could try and work a deal with you for a Spec.
Who around here would buy the damn thing?

I would love to have a Spec clutch, but I can't afford to throw this one away. The install alone is gonna KILL my wallet.

To be honest, I'm only running 7psi currently. People who have had trouble with the CM have all been above that.

As I said before, I'll run it until it slips, then contact Clutchmasters with a "what the hell" email, and see what I get back.

I have the install next tuesday, and I NEED to get the new clutch in, as the stock clutch is not up to the task. I doubt I could get a new spec clutch in time.

I have an ACT with the Xtreme Pressure plate and it's been great. I dont' know if it's a part number in the ACT catalog yet, but you can talk to Jeff @ ProParts and he can hook you up.

i know it's been a while and i haven't gotten my clutch yet... but i'm the type of person that does his homework... plus it's been cold lately... so my clutch hasn't been slipping as much... just cant WOT :-(

i've been reading ALOT about the ACT's i think i might go with an act... how harsh is it with the extreeme pressure plate on engagement?

well...depends, with the 4 puck, and having stock motor mounts its not that bad, its very very harsh in the sense that it will clamp hard, and try break the mounts. Plus the sound is...well, you know. So for daily drive on a good driver, it will be fun!
Irganic Disk...just like stock.

Having AWR motor mounts, I dont know, BUT IM SURE IT WILL BE HARD!

I have a bully clutch with a stage 5 pressure plate and a 4 puck disk. With the AWR motor mounts. Let's just say it is harsh. 1st gear needs a few more revs than normal or else the clutch will chatter.

My ACT with extreme pressure plate has a street disc on it so engagement isn't too bad at all. The pedal is much heavier than stock and requires more pressure, but engagement intself, not bad at all. Totally daily driveable.
