I'm not angry, I just don't appreciate ignorance.

Specifically when some yahoo is likening me to Timothy McVeigh.

you can buy semi-automatic versions of just about any shoulder fired weapons

EDIT: except in california, you're limited to 10 round clips.
(lol)
I think the are just illegal to buy now. Cause with guns almost any grandfather clause is good.
I still have like 30 30-round clips for my mini-14
my bigger stuff they dotn make big round clips for, 30-6 or my m-1 grand.

Cingrats on the gun. Was tought by my pops at age 6 how to use a gun, grew up knowing how to load and take saftey of and everyhti gwith out my dad. We never played with them cause how we were raised, they cold sit on a table and we woudl leave them alone (we as in ym brother and i)
i always grew up with an appreciation for them. My son now ids 7 we set up a bb gun target int he garage, (my granda did it for my dad and ucles in the 5-60s int he same garage) its all fun.

Right on, California is a tough state for firearms. Up until recently I lived in Florida, man do I miss those laws.

Here's about 200 rounds getting unloaded into a broken 27" TV in about 60 seconds. Guns range from Ruger 10-22, to 12 ga shot guns, to 9mm pistols, and 4-30 round clips from an AK-47.

ENJOY!

Funny I am trying to purchase my first gun and the guy at the gun store told me to start with a Taurus, but I really want a springfield or a sig. Only thing is that I know nothing about guns.

The only good tom clancy game was ravenshield.
Now now...while RavenShield rocked BAWLS! I still have it installed with the free expansion pack that was released last year, Vegas it is pretty damn good on PC, provided you have a high end machine.
Yes it is a port, yes Demonware sucks ass, yes UBI is ******* awefull!
I do believe the AK is far less accurate at distance than say an M16A2 and a 5.56mm will still make you just as dead at least if you know how to use it.
I loved the 7.62x51 in the M60 ah yes now that is a weapon too bad it is crew served :(
The SAW is nice but that rate of fire does not make up for the raw killing power of the M60. So in regard to the basic rifleman I will take the M16A2 (MY FAV) over the AK47 but for the automatic rifleman I would take the M60 maybe in E3 form so perhaps a really big ****** can pack it without an AG.
Like the bottom most two:

Of course this aint too shabby either 7.62x51 not 7.62x39 like the AK.

Ok this is just one of my all time FAVS ******* nice ass way to ruin your enemies day. AR10 **** yeah BOEEY! 7.62X51MM so ******* sweet! Of course it can use the Soviet x39 ammo too.

ak47 is one of the best rifles in the world.. American troops even use them. 2 shotguns single and double barrel , 4 sniper rifles, and a winchester

They are rugged but they are not as accurate at distance. I love to fire them but Setup some 300 meter targets (open sight) and take them both, fire them off and see which one you woud prefer.
To each his own but I was hitting 450 meter targets with the A2 (longer barrel, built in compensator) open sight. But I was way younger back then LOL :)
American troops by and large use what they are issued and that would be most likely an M4.
Oh and the AK was suppedly modeled after this weapon. I guess the Commies liked the Nazi weapon enough to copy it. This was a 7.92mm weapon even bigger than the AK round.

I enjoy my AK's, but I love the hell out of our Armalite AR-10. Truely a tack-hammer. I know what you are saying though, I'm great with my AK's, but anyone can put great groups down on the AR platform. Beauty of the design. Now if I could just get my Saiga-Dragunov put back together, we'll see if I can put a group inside the AR, I doubt it though.

Other than rifles, what does everyone have? I've got quite a few these days, but I definitely shoot my Krinkov, SAR, CEMTE, and S308 the most.

Yashoo, SCAR-L's and -H's are nasty. I'm thinking about going to the Knob Creek Machine-gun shoot again, hopefully someone will have some of the new stuff. Sig 552's, SCAR's, AR/HK416's and the likes.

Semi-automatic is the order of the day for most states. Depending on where you live, you can obtain a "Class-3 license" to purchase full-automatic weaponry. But why bother, it's a waste of money on ammo. All of my rifles are semi-auto.
There is this RICH ****** (I half ass know) who has some kind of trust and he can buy any weapon he damn well pleases as long as it belongs to this trust. It has to have the trust's name engraved on the weapon along with some other stuff but anyway he has some really freaky s***. I don't even come close to understanding what all is involved as I couldn't afford his crazy ass arsenal.
He invented (well his partner) some kind of long range passive radar system it's all classified blah, blah so he could not tell me about it but he had a ton of cool photos of weapons with silencers etc.
I don't think he even fires most of them. Ah to be rich and bored. :)
I wish I had just a simple automatic shotgun..sniff..tear.
Oh well the semiautomatic Remington model 1100 410 magnum will have to do. My Dad gave it to me it is a 911$ 410.

Blah....

I am actually considering getting my license to carry and getting one. I don't know if you guys stay on top of the news, but Philly has broken every freaking record in the books with murder rates/ gun crimes/ etc etc. I had a bad experience this weekend, and REFUSE to be put in that situation again... edit: and this ins't the first time i've been put in bad situations.

Mind you, I have always been personal fire arms. I have shot a gun maybe twice in my life, witha buddy who took me to a gun range. Guns were never really my thing. My parents never owned weapons, and did not believe in owning them either. I'm still iffy about it, but I really don't know what else to do. I live in a good area, but you cant seem to escape crime anywhere.

My biggest reservation about purchasing a weapon, is actually using it. I'm pretty confident I would have no problem pulling a trigger, its all the complications that come with it. Not only that, but I feel as if owning a gun can elevate a situation way past what it would have ever been if I didn't. And then all of the legal nonsense that you have to deal with after words.
Anyone have any input or advice?

That's why in Texas you have to carry insurance to cover any law suits etc.

Nice, my friends grandfather is the same way. He's actually starting to sell off his 326 piece collection. I'm trying to pick up of a few of them, including a .415 Rigby, a 25th Anniversary Weatherby .300, a bolt-action 3.5" magnum slug rifle, and a couple old over and unders. The only issue is, he wants a pile of cash for everything so they are all a bit out of my price range. It's maddening to see someone with that many firearms and having only fired about half of them.

I've thought about getting the Beretta Xtrema, but I almost feel like I'm cheating with that thing.
