that is the rev limiter is 7200 rpm redline is 6500 rpm...

well my fellow mspers since we are talking about exhausts and what not...i got pulled over tonight by a state trooper for my exhaust...got a nice $160 ticket for it he says that it's illegal to mod your car from stock blah blah blah....he is giving me 10 days to cut a cat on and switch back to my stock muffler....i say **** that ....i think that i will just somehow find a fake cat and throw my resonator back on and then keep my muffler on...or i dunno i love the power and sound of my exhaust but i don't know what to do...i still have the stock cats....so i could just put one on with the resonator and my muffler...any input guys? i want to keep the power but quiet it down a little bit....or i can just put the resonator back on with the stock muffler and keep the power put at least this way it will quiet it down a little bit....****** pigs..help me out with what i should do guys

I'm catless with a stock MSP catback and it sounds like the stock exhaust just a very tad bit deeper. Barely noticable.

Im not sure of what your pwer goals are but i have a corksport turboback with the stock msp axelback (just the portion that goes over the axel) with a high flow cat welded in. Its hardly louder than stock, doesnt resonate and theres plenty of flow.

protege garage, summit racing, any racing shop. i have a vibrant.

the thing is, with a fake one, you can still tell its fake if the cop really hates you, it will smell really bad plus it wouldnt pass a sniffer test. so if you go to court they can give you a hard time. you might as well just put a cat in there. the power difference is very small despite popular belief (at our power levels).

however if u wish to get a fake one still, you could just gut a cat thats the proper size. by gutting you just take a metal rod and break all the ceramic out.

indeed i sit corrected. I wasnt aware they had platinum, no wonder they fetch a premium. i wouldnt recomend getting a new one and gutting it, i meant like a stock one or just put a high flow one on since the difference in HP is negligable in most street situations.

I dont really know if I shoot flames or not... but I know ever since I got my catless DP/MP installed, when I shift into third I heard this really big backfire!! A buddy with a SRT4 could shoot flames!! He had a lot done to that thing though.

ha...yeah i am just going to gut out one of the stock cats that i have (the smaller one) at work tomorrow...and then weld that b**** on ...i ordered a silencer for my muffler...that state trooper can kiss my ass...my buddy teknic this weekend got pulled too by a state trooper (undercover dodge charger) and made him rip all of his tint off of all of his windows right in front of him...trooper told him that the state legal limit for tint is 50% when it is actually only 35% is the legal limit for the driver's side and passenger side windows...and the rest of the car can be whatever...but he ripped out all the tint cuz the trooper was a ****** cock...i told teknic...dude look at suvs that come out of the factory they come stock with less then 35% tint in the back winshield and back passenger doors etc...that cost him $190 bucks
