Whine from door when locking car?

Hello all,

So after about a year of driving my 2014 CX5 Touring, I notice that when I lock my car the lock/door on the rear driver side whines. It does not do this when unlocking--only when locking. It almost sounds like theres something in there that is being rubbed when the locks engage and it doesn't like it, because it whines for about 1.5 seconds. So far the door has not failed to lock, but I'm worried that it might get worse.

Anyone else experience this? Car is still under warranty--I wonder if it's something I should get checked out.

Thanks!

If you still have warranty, Yes take it to the dealer and let him listen. He will decide if it needs work.

Sounds like the well known lock actuator issue. Sometimes it will do it when locking or unlocking, eventually it'll do it most of the time. I have not heard of the lock failing to work though, only makes a sound.

If that's the case I can live with it...I just don't want it to eventually stick and not lock.

I had this issue, fixed under warranty. Also my blinker mechanism would squeak/whine when it disengaged itself.
