Which TPMS do I need?

Hey guys,

I just bought a set of 18" oem Mazdaspeed3 wheels for my 2008.5 Mazda 3 hatch GT. These wheels did not come with TPMS. I'm gonna need new tires for these rims soon, so I'm wondering which TPMS do I need or will work with my car? IIRC, the oem TPMS is set up for 17" wheels, so I'm guessing I need a set for 17" wheels even though they're going in 18" wheels. Does this sound right? If so, which TPMS will be compatible with my car(mz3, mz6, etc). Thanks guys. I hope this post makes sense to you all (braindead

Same TPMS is used for all Mazdas except the Tribute (and probably other brands as well).

But you can keep an eye out on various forums as I've seen people selling them before.

Or you can get one from Rock Auto for about $35-50 each.

So each computer isn't set to read a certain size wheel/pressure threshold?

The sensors just report the pressure, the computer will read the data returned by the sensors and determine whether or not to display the warning light on the dash. So yes, the computer in the car is set to a certain pressure range.

I just put speed6 wheels on my 3 and i swapped over the tmps's from my 17's and they work just fine. thanks for the link though cause my 17's are going to be my winter rims this next winter and i want to get snow tires and so i need 4 new tmps sensors to go in them. As much as people hate them on here TMPS has saved me some real trouble in the past.
