I'm trying to decide which exhaust system to get. I plan on putting a gt28rs turbocharger with all the supporting mods. I'm trying to decide which exhaust to get a CorkSport 2.5" turbo-back or 3.0" GHL turbo-back. Thanks for you input!

Get a custom exhaust done much cheaper your getting ripped by all those companies 1,000 dollars for metal you guys are ******* crazy...an exhaust shop can do it for you for like $200- $300 DP and full 3" exhaust with muffler

way wrong. definitely not in SS. mandrel bends in SS are expensive.....especially the donut bends needed to create the s-pipe.

replacing the entire exhaust will cost about a grand so no, the companies are not ripping you off.

btw, go GHL :D

I want the Corksport system because I am keeping my stock turbo and I don't really need the flow of a 3" exhaust. While no pipe is the best pipe for a turbo application, if you aren't forcing the air out fast enough you will create turblance in a pipe that is too wide.

Atually your way wrong bud! I can get 3" mandrel bent SS exhaust full tubo back for $230 here in modesto so actually know the facts .....Any way if your doin a 3" exhaust and they use a pipe bender the pipe still doesnt restrict the flow even bent...just go under the axel not over to keep bends minimal.... Honestly dude if you would shell out $1,000 for an exhaust system the youve been had! Just my honest opinion.......

well your both wrong, so shut up! haha :p ;)... the reason most of these exhausts cost so much is because of development costs, they have put a lot of time and thought into producing a modification that will perform to its most optimum point, some redneck with a pipe bender will never be able to produce that without getting VERY lucky, if you want to squeeze every last ounce of power out of your car, your going to pay for it, otherwise, your not...

i vote corksport, its a cheap alternative that gets a nice gain in power, should have gotten in on it with the GB though, wow that was a good price :D...

good point. forgot about the research aspect of it. but SS bends are not cheap....one donut bend costs ~$100 :(

corksport, ideally thats what you need, 3" is almost overkiller esp with out cars. now if you had a Sti or an Evo id say spend the extra but if it were me, id go with corksport, jut my .02 worth, good luck on making a decesion!

Even the low-grade SS would cost over that much just for the materials. A mandrel bender is also expensive. I don't know who would do it that cheap after paying so much for the machinery. I'm guessing you can get a crush bent aluminized steel exhaust for as much as you are saying. Additionally, good luck trying to get a local exhaust shop to make a turbo-back. You might get an s-pipe back.

Any exhaust shop would lose money selling you a mandrel bent SS exhaust for $230.

exactly

unless you have some really good hookups or the SS piping is stolen I highly doubt you will get it for 230 bucks, I doubt you can get enough piping to do an exhaust for that price

like Jrugs said you wont get the cheapiest s*** for that price unless they are making it for free.

3" SS piping unpolished can range from $75-125 in 5-ft increments. So let's say it's the cheapest $75 SS and let's say you only need 2.5 sections to do your exhaust. That's $187.50 for just the piping. Of course they are charging you nothing for labor or mandrel bending so that's still $150. They polish it for free. No cost to measure your car and find the dimensions. You get a muffler for $80. No cat or resonator. Flanges cost about $50.

Sounds like you are full of s*** or they are just playing you. I would guess that it costs a company $500 to produce a full turbo-back, spread the R&D costs out over units sold and it goes to about $700. So the company probably makes about $300 per unit give or take a hundred.

Oh, and sorry for the threadjack Hello2000. I would get the GHL if you plan on going with the GT28rs. Corksport would be fine, but if you up the boost you might choke flow in the higher RPM range.

get the corksport, then get a Mental addiction downpipe later on when you have more money... Voila, full turbo back exhaust.

Or you can get the MAM DP and Perrin exhaust like me and scare people with the deep growl as you pass(laugh)
