Which Model do I have???

thats what I thought, but the guy at the dealership says i have an S and follows it up with i have the 2.0. I didnt believe him so i looked his screen myself and it said just that. but according to DUB's pics I have a 2.3 so any other suggestions?

But regardless if the bottom pic is wrong, he says the top pic is the 2.3 and that is exactly what my engine bay looks like.

looks like a sport too because of the wheels.

grill and wheels are a dead give away. he's got 16" wheels, sport comes with 17".

tourings and GT's come in 17's. sports in 16's. and the no badges on side too on the 3i's.

^ exactly. you would also have a "2.3" badge on the front doors if it were an s.

But then thats still not very clear. I could have an S sport automatic and it would have the 16's and no badges. Is there a difference in the engine bays? engine covers? or other indicating factors?

I saw that they stopped labling the cars on '08's and up, is that true?

I just googled 2008 Mazda 3 S 2.3 and not a single pick came up with a badge on the door. Only ones that had the badge were models '07 and down...

everything about your exterior indicates i. there is no reason you would have a 2.3 under the hood. 2008 s has "2.3" on the door.

But do you guys under stand my confusion now? If you took you car to go get checked @ Mazda and the mechanic says you have an S what would you think? I know it looks like the basic exterior but then to hear that and see it for myself would throw me off.

yep, safe to say it is a 2.0 sport.

Simple solution, the 2.0 and 2.3 can't look alike. A quick search shows the 2.3 looks like this...

and the 2.0 looks like this...

Are you sure that photo is a 2.3 engine?

I printed out the photo and compared it with my 2008 engine which i'm positive is a 2 liter engine and my engine is identical to the engine photo in your post.

If you look at the emissions label under the hood it will tell you which engine in the car.

According to the 2008 Mazda 3 brochure a 3S can have sand cloth interior with Copper red, Galaxy gray, Stormy blue and Crystal white exterior colors.

the dealer doesn't always get that right.. which I believe is where this topic got its seed.

I like the "under hood sticker" idea... though it may have both engines listed there... in which case you learned nothing.

Thanx for the late input but if you read the posts prior to what you put you would have seen that, that is where the confusion started. I went to Mazda assuming that i had a iSport and the guy at the dealership said according to the Vin its an S! So tone down the cursing Computer thug! WTF
