Getting the Cobb AP in today. what map should I run?
cobb sri, desno ivt22,htp turbo inlet pipe, gutted out midpipe=testpipe.

Some people say run stage 2 with testpipe and some people say stage 1...Im gonna assume that my gutted out midpipe will behave like a testpipe so there is more flow. I need some asnwers asap so I can download that into my car......Last but not least...cobb says to gap plugs at 0.26-0.28 Surgeline tuning says to gap it 0.24. what is everyones gap who are running the accessport?????
THANK YOU!

A gutted out stock midpipe, or even an aftermarket testpipe does not open up the exhaust anywhere near the amount that an aftermarket downpipe does. the AP is very specific about what mods you use for each map. You could really hurt your engine if you're using more boost than your car can handle at that time. play it safe and go with Stage 1 SRI

goodluck running stage 2 without a fuel pump. some people it works some it doesnt. try it out but watch your fuel pressure. if it dips below 1200 change your map. if it gets to 700 like me.....get pissed off you bought an access port and now need to buy a fuel pump on top of it. lol. its my own fault.

if you dont have an exhaust dont worry about stage 2 though. it says you should be running a full tbe for stage 2. id run stage 1 and feel the fun!

Just curious. What year is your Speed (Based off your name I guess 2007)? If 2007 did you get the upgraded FP? Going Stage 2 without huge mods should not equal low FP. The lowest I ever saw with my stocker was 1300 with the mods listed in my sig and a custom hot tune from Cobb. And then I only saw dipping FP immediately after shifting as boost was building back.

So if you have a 2007 and you didn't get the FP under the TSB, then your issue is the solenoid on your pump not keeping up with the demand. Even if you got internals you would still have an issue. Your only aftermarket solution would be the CPE pump at $700. The AP had nothing to do with it I assure you.

I would datalog your FP then print out the TSB and go in and request the updated pump. Your problem of FP will go away if you do. My FP with an MBC pushing 19PSI would drop to 900PSI. I took my car in and got the new FP under the TSB and never had another issue. I just upgraded my Internals as my tune was not finished and was starting to dip.

Doing the TSB is a LOT cheaper than buying a CPE Pump.

You should not have any issues with your mods.

hahahaha i knew you would come. +1.....its all year specific like he said. i just said the fp thing to see if bravnik would come. hahahaha. i was just playing around. anything to do with access ports and s*** bravnik knows what he's talking about. although bravnik...he doesnt have mods specific to the stage 2 tune. you think he really should be running a stage 2 with a stock dp?

i went in a while ago for the tsb and the douche said it was all set. ill take it in again and have someone else look at it. i was told it was my fp not keeping up with the demands and i also had my doubts. i told him with the mods i have i shouldnt be going below 1000 psi at any point....even with the stage 2 with an exception here and there. ill run some logs and bring it in like you said i never thought of that. good idea

Yeah they are giving you the run around man. I would press the issue (be careful of your mods) because if they don't replace the FP then you will have to get a CPE Pump or pay for a stock pump yourself as the solenoid is the issue :(

They should fix it though man!

well for what its worth surgeline tuning which does alot of ms3's has said with testpipe run stage 2... I just worry cause I have stock downpipe and you get alot of people running into prabs with stage 2..but that has alot to do with what mods thier running and the mazda ecu seems to be alittle trick from 1 car toanother...It does appear that Bravnik does know his s*** and I will go v103 stage 2 91 octane when I install the accessport today. Hopefully all goes well..I plan to drive very mildly for least 50 miles or so,which is a good idea right? I can then data log it and post it..and maybe get some more advice on how my car is running as iam fairly new to tuning. Also what suggested gap should i do my ivt22 plugs at? what kind of gap tool is reccomended? Thanks for help and advise..sure ill have more question..and wish me luck lol :)

so im in the middle of install...ap idenified my car as a 2009 cali model..i pressed ok..and then the blue cobb symbol has been displayed for about 15 min....is this normal? thanks

still on the cobb blue icon..last thing it said was verifing ecu and map profiles...thought thbe install process took like 10 min.

shouldnt it least give me a progress meter?? please explain. I have uploaded the latest firmware and updates and maps onto accessport then follow instructions when hook up to car..it id's car as 2009 cali model i press ok..then it says verifying and loading map profiles, thats when it goes to the cobb icon and stays there for a long time and yeah.

okies got it...guess i wasnt safely ejecting the ap from the computer when i was downloading maps..so i loaded up the stage 2 sf 91 oct map onto my car but right now im saving the stock data..but least im in business :)(flame)
