Which is the better option?

I'm going order a Pioneer GM-6400F 4-channel amp and install it (likely) with a set of the Infinity Kappa 680.9cs components in the front. Should I just have the amp wired to run the front components and the stock rear doors, or the front components and bridged to the stock sub? I'm leaning towards the rear doors, but was looking for any reasoned opinions.

I'm not looking to spend a ton of money, I just want good sound.

That's tricky... I was able to make the stock sub fart with the factory amp, so I know for sure you'll probably challenge its excursion abilities with a real amp. However, that may still give you better low end than the factory door speakers. You'd probably be best served trying both setups and letting your ears decide for you.

And realistically, there is cheap bass to be had...

For the amount of power you're running, you'd probably be extremely happy with one of those. In all honesty I bought one of the GTB1200M boxes, but have never used it... I could put it in the car for a few days and let you know if it's decent at low power.

I think you're probably right; if I did send 150 watts or so to the stock sub, it would not likely last. I would try both, but I'm not inclined to try and hook this up myself; I've got 0 experience wiring up car audio and I'm a little intimidated with wiring i up myself. I appreciate the offer of hooking up your box, but I don't think I want to go that route -- at least not yet. Thanks for the input!

Well as I mentioned in your other thread, keep your options open for a shallow mount sub in the future then. An 8 or 10 under the passenger seat would be plenty. With that in mind, you should probably wire to the sub, so that it will be easy to change in the future... just take one out and put another in. My guess is you will miss having bass more than you will miss having rear fill.

I suspect you're correct; I've been keeping an eye out for a stealthbox. Again, thanks; I appreciate your help.
