Deepest/meanest sounding catback exhaust?

Hey all.

Its been a while since i gave some love to my ms3 and have been looking at buying a catback exhaust. I have been watching youtube videos and trying to find reviews on some but still cant really make up my mind.

I currently have a cobb downpipe mated to the stock cbe and want something louder and a nice deep mean tone to it. But I also dont want something obnoxously loud

Now so far I like the Hks,Cpe,ghl and borla.

If you could let me know your opinions on what I am trying to accomplish that would be greatly appreciated

I made a poll so it would be easier for everyone

I used to really like HKS hi-power, but yesterday I youtubed the GHL and like it as much or better. I voted GHL

Looking at your sig, maybe you could take a break from loving your car and buy some parts for mine. My MS3 haz little love!

Hey thanks for the feedback. I have been researching for days and the ghl is out of the question because of fitment issues and it is even louder than the cpe. So now I'm on a toss up between cp-e and hks.

From what I gathered the cp-e has alot of drone and extremely loud with just the optional 12" muffler. So I don't know if I should just pull the trigger on the hks exhaust.

You left out Corksport and Ultimate Racing, which should be other strong contenders. I've heard the GHL's are loud unless you go with the additional resonator.

Yea I'm considering corksport as well. I'm down to either hks or corksport. Supposively corksport is loud. But it sounds so good. Idk just still not certain on Which exhaust.

Have you listened to the Magnaflow CBE, thats what i have on my MS3. It has a deeper tone than most, nice and throaty.

Cobb's cbe is still discontinued. Or else I would of bought it. I have been asking thEm every month lol

Im another CorkSport Supporter. Absolutely love the tone and the free flow of the system. Personally, you cant go wrong with it.

IMHO the Borla sounds the best. I like the price of the HKS, but the Borla sounds deep and ballsy like you are looking for. At WOT the HKS can get a little "frappy" with a DP. And nobody wants a to sound anything remotely like those "hack-job fart cans" from Pep Boys. You really can't go wrong with either one though. Price of the HKS, sound of the Borla

Hey thanks for the replys but I don't know how much of an occurrence it is but I heard people mentioning that the corksport sometimes has leaking issues and/or bent flanges. I have researched on this site and the other Mazda site for a long ass time.

To me there's no better way obviously to here the exhaust in person. Cause for instance every hks exhaust almost always sounds different on the videos online granted they might have a testpipe or dp or resonator removed

Also I think my HKS decreased in loudness after it was broken in / had some carbon deposits on the inside. It then changed sound again after I got my TMIC it seemed, very minor though.

Finally it sounds more distinct and louder when the temperature is colder and less humid (greater air flow I assume).

And I feel there is slight drone when driving with the AC on and keeping it at 2700 - 2900 rpm.

Maybe its just the youtube video I watched, but the HKS seemed obnoxiously loud to me. And the CPE sounded deeper to me. So I voted CPE.
