Which car to buy?

Well, sooner or later i have to part with my 2001 Pro. Mah dad is being in asshole so when i go to college i will have to buy myself a car. I just wanted peoples opinions on which car i should get. Keepin mind i am not rich and just know started saving up money.(only got 200$). So please give me your opinions on which car i should get. Most likelfy it will be my 1st project car. Thanx

Need more info. When are you leaving for school? How much do you expect to have saved up? Will you be able to make payments or do you need to pay cash for something used (abused?)

Second thing, and from a Dad's perspective. Unless you're paying for ALL of your own school costs, and your own car insurance he's not bein an asshole, he's just being responsible. I Don't mean to rag on you! I know what you're feeling, and I probably would have felt exactly like that way when I was 18 or 19 but still...(Yo, I had to BEG to borrow my mom's '76 Ford Granada when I was in college. You don't even KNOW my pain. That thing SUCKED!!!!!lol!)

Real world scenario #1 You take the Pro to college. You and buds meet girls from nearby school or town. Party asses off and hop in the Pro to get more beer/pizza/condoms whatever. Worst case scenario, dead son, best case scenario wrecked Pro. All cases expensive for Dad. Give him a break, he's just looking out for ya buddy! That's what Dad's do even if it seems crummy sometimes.

OK lesson over, what about the car? How much can you afford?

well first of all i would have a year to raise the money and my mom says she'll give me 2 grand to help me buy a car. I wont be payin for college(government will), and i really wouldnt want to get involved in the whole PAYMENTS thing. And second of all is that it is the control thing, he is willing to give me the pro for college but i dont want to take it because i know whenever he feels like it he can take it away from me, hence why i want to get my own car. And my mother says i would be able to put it in her name and her insurance so that it'll be cheaper. Um idk what else i missed. Thats about it.

MX-6. It still has 4 seats (cuz you KNOW I'd suggest a beater miata. ) and are fun from what I hear.

If you want a nice car, that's reliable, and is takes well to mods. Get a Lude. The only down side is the mods are a little more expensive, but it's quick from the factory, and from 2k you could get yourself a nice 3rd or 4th gen w/4ws.

I would also have to say Prelude. I used to have one and they are great little cars.
