Which Built Block?

Well guys,
After about a month of careful consideration. And I mean I researched just about every vendor on the board, plust two local engine shops in my area, I placed my order with Beau at MAM last week. We talked on the phone for about an hour, discussing all possible options and my goals. Currently, Im running the Unichip @13psi + bolt ons. Car pulls very hard, but Ive pretty much reached my limit. Or my rods have reached their limit, I should say. So I ended up going with this:
CP Pistons(8.5-1 C/R)
H-Beam Rods(Long Rod setup)
CP gold nitrated rings
Toga Tri metal bearings
ARP main studs
ARP head studs
ARP2000 rod bolts
Extra thrust washer machine in
New freeze plugs
New oil squinters
New brass oil galley plug

Port and Polished Head with a 5-angle valve job
and
a pretty black powder coated valve cover to top it all off!!!!

I cant wait.

Wow. You really went for it all, huh?

How much power do you want to put down?

Not looking to shatter any land speed records. I just want to run 275 - 300 whp, SAFELY on a daily basis. Down the road, I'm sure a thumper kit will be in the works. But first things first. 12 seconds would be hot!!!

Your gonna need more hp for 12's. Unless you don't mind putting on some serious slicks.

Low 14's with stock tires, spinning thru first lol

My best ever on stock tires was a 13.53... drag radials don't make it much better. The only tires I didn't spin through second gear was the 26/9/15 slicks.

I know that if I could hold my composure at the light(instead of getting all nervous and freaking out), and I launched like a normal human being, I could get high 13's. My last race was against a high 13sec mustang, and I had a higher trap speed. My 60 ft time is absolutely terrible. Sorry for the threadjack. Back to motors......7 weeks and counting..*crosses fingers*

Have you thought about removing VTCS when you get all the work done ?

I talked to Beau about it, I was really considering removing it, but then I would have to weld the holes AND have to put up with a CEL. Plus it gets kind of cold here in winter 35f-0f. So I think I will just thread lock the screws so they dont work themselves loose. I'll also have to try to port my intake manifold to try to match Beau's PnP job on the head. Or at least clean it up a bit.

So to be totally honest Sniper, I cant really comment on Beau's work untill I recv the motor. But trust me, I called and talked to at least 5 different shops. Beau had no negative things to say about any other shops. Very professional. Spent alot of time asking ME questions about driving habits, HP goals, etc., and explaining the whole build process. I felt very reasured handing over all of that cash, lol.

Nick is a good guy from the dealings I have with him. In this business mistakes are made. I make mistakes and so does every other business. It's how you resolve them and correct it so it doesn't happen again. Have you talked with Nick about your problems and concerns?

he sounded like a good guy on the phone, but this is just bad bussiness,I dropped a lot of money on his doorstep,to get less then satisfaction back.

when I commented about the o-ring sticking out of the oil pump,he asked"so,you need a new o-ring?"NO,I don't,I wanted a promise that the rest of the engine didn't have this lack of attention, and negligent building.

the only reason I went with nick is because he promised me all the parts I was looking for,and faster then anyone else, because he allready had an order in for the parts.

quality,speed,price.

you can never get all three, the best anyone gets is two of these options

And I will testify to all the research atticus has done, I am so glad he finally picked bc I was getting sick of him asking me like 5 times a day which one he should go with lol ...

Jeph doesn't mind. He's very proud of all the hard work he has done to get the money to build his car. He doesn't mind people knowing what he's running.

cool.

I'm just to use to being around sleepers

BTW did you see what I did with the turbo I got from you?
do a search for "ported GT28RS"

what do you mean by "tranny swap"what is going in it?

No I have not. I'll look for it.
His tranny is going out and his local shop wanted $1000+ to rebuild it. I told him to save his money and I'll pull one from a junkyard. I found one that has 10,000 miles and comes with a 1yr waranty for $350.
Since we are doing the motor swap I told him we'll throw it in at no extra cost.
