Where to buy a boost gauge?

I want a Prosport amber/white mechanical boost gauge so I can install it over the 3 day weekend...

Where in the heck could I possibly find one retail? I obviously can't buy online and expect to install it this weekend... I'm in Indianapolis, IN. Ideas? Pep Boys/Autozone and stuff aren't 'advanced' enough to carry stuff like this around here...

I would recommend not getting mechanical guages at all. Get electrical, they are much more accurate. Yes they are more expensive, but it is worth it. Its telling you the vitals of your engine

Electric is more accurate? I have always heard it was the other way around. Just go to autozone and pick one up for cheap. There is a lot better stuff out there you can spend your money on than a gauge. Mechanical is also easier to install.

Ive heard electric is a tiny bit more accurate but also has more probles with the sending units. I like my things mechanical....the less there is to break the better. At least thats how i look at it lol

Whatever the difference is in accuracy it is probably .00000001% off. That shouldn't be the deciding factor in your purchase.

Yes, but with mech you have a preasurized line running into the cabin. It would be interesting to see what would happen if that line came loose

(uhm)

Boost, EGT and oil preasure are all very important vitals of your car. Why would you buy cheap s*** for your car. That statement was ignorant
(ignorant=not knowing). If you want to cheap, go cheap on buying some no name dish soap or something, NOT your car

Why would you spend extra money on something that does the exact same thing as a cheaper one? What difference does it make which gauge you get? How is it ignorant being a smart consumer and not throwing money away? How would the line come loose? Just because you pay more for something doesn't make it better. Your whole post made me laugh.

I have a similar question. If you dont have a pillar to put your gauges at...where does one mount it at?

I used 3m 2 sided tape and attached it on the steering wheel column. The vac line goes through the hood release latch hole and I got power from the glove box light which is only on when you have your lights on. But don't listen to me because I am ignorant (ignorant=not knowing) (silly)

You taped your boost guage to your steering wheel column(getout)

We are talking about a boost gauge here. All it does is measure pressure and vacuum it isn't like it makes your car faster or anything. My install looks good too. All of the wires/vacuum lines are heat shrinked and everything is hidden. The gauge is in a good spot for visibility and is a lot better than drilling holes in the steering wheel column and screwing it in there.

What the **** is your problem? We are talking about a ******* boost gauge here. All it does is measure pressure and vacuum it isn't like it makes your car faster or anything. And I don't give 2 s**** about getting a gauge pod because why spend more money than you need to for a ******* boost gauge.

Chill out man, your getting a little too excited here(direct)

Chill out man, your getting a little too excited here(direct). If you want to go and buy sheap s***, by all means, but when it breaks- I told you so. And BTW If I walked up to it and saw a guage tapped to the steering column I would(rlaugh). Kind of ghetto and cheap, if you ask me. Did you atleast use duct tape. And imagine how your car feels(nervous)

it is 2 sided tape you don't see it at all. If you are trying to justify spending extra money by putting down my install then I hope you feel good for yourself. Besides I got my gauge for free from a friend or I wouldn't have even got one in the first place. I call it my 'first rice mod'.

And if it breaks then big ******* deal, you are out $45. Expensive ones can break too then you are out $300. More expensive doesn't mean it is better.

I found this pic on a different thread. The gauge isn't the same as mine but the install looks exactly the same. If you think that is ghetto or looks like s*** then that is your opinion but I am perfectly happy with the install.

Thanks bro. I got the $300 from Defi gauges which are actually closer to $250. Prosport electric look good for the money thanks for the info.
