We have moved in the direction.

Kooldino said:I've been following this thread for awhile now.
A few points:
I'd like to start off by saying that MAM makes top notch stuff. You'd be hard pressed to find MAM quality stuff anywhere for any car, let alone Proteges. I absolutely love MAM's products as much as the next guy, and really appreciate the quality, design, and the craftsmanship of the parts.
However - and this is where the die-hard MAM fanboys really need to LISTEN UP - MAM has CLEARLY demonstrated over time that they are not the best business to deal with. There are so many fanboys in here that are so trigger happy to shoot down any issue a MAM customer has that it's just unreal. To those who fall into that category - take a reality check.
Most customers don't mind waiting for a part so long as it arrives somewhere around the time that it was originially promised. The fact is, MAM may promise a 2 month lead on an item, but the customer frequently waits 6 months for it, all the while blame is being shifted by MAM onto third parties. "It's at the machine shop", "It's off to powder coating", "the machine shop exploded and they have to build a new building before the job can be done", etc. I've seen it countless times, and I've experienced it myself. If the machine shops and powder coating shops are taking too long, for instance, then it sounds like MAM needs to start using more reliable third party shops to do their work, or to start doing the work in house.
They also need to communicate better with their customers. Not replying to a customer for months when thousands were spent and the part is 3 months past due is extremely poor business practice, and there is absolutely ZERO excuse for it. MAM needs to correct this. I know several people who personally offered to assist MAM with these issues, but for whatever reason, MAM seems to have declined.
My point? Be a MAM fanboy and love their product all you want (I love their stuff too), but you have absolutely no right to take shots at paying customers who have waited twice the quoted time on their parts to be completed or completed correctly. To all of you who do take shots at these unfortunate customers, just be lucky that it didn't happen to you, or else you'd be crying the same song as them. They have valid reason to complain.
Mental Addiction has had it's blunders in the past, and has since taken some steps to rectify their problems. However, it appears that problems are still cropping up, and some further steps are necessary to provide better service. I will discuss this with the other Admins and will try to come up with a solution that fits everyone's needs.
terbow said:this is simply remedied by not saying its shipped till you have it in your hands or a concrete proof of shipping, right? most of all these problems are with you saying, yes indeed its shipped, when its not, even if your lied to or not. this is where your problem starts and its SO easily fixed.

Mazdaspeed6 said:Are you serious, I didnt try to scam you. Say whatever you want, I dropped the charge back. I was told by visa I would have to take the motor out and ship it back to you to have it fixed. I checked with you and you said it would void my warranty. So i decided against that, I addressed that back with you in january. I did not scam anyone, I paid willfully sir. It seems like you all have a problem with communication at MAM. i talk to one guy one day and the next day im getting told two different things. Fact of the matter is this, if the block didnt arrive with scratches on top of the cyclinder head I would never have disputed the charge. Case close, I called you as soon as I recieved the motor and told you about the scratches, I sent pictures and you said send it back to me other wise it will void the warranty. THis was a week after the motor had been dropped in. It took you 5 business days to respond to my email, thats why I intiated a charge back. Not because I wanted to scam you or anyone else. I even did business with you again I purchased a GT28RS turbo from MAM. NO scam there.. it arrived just as promised on time and I paid with a Credit card there too... No charge back filed. Say whatever you want, I may have not made my intentions clear the first time last june on the machining of my block however , what I sent you was an estimate to get it done, I was not going to pay 800 dollars or whatever and get it done, then you not reimburst me. Thats ridiculous. WHoever is doing your PM's is doing you a serious injustice, you can tell the entire story of what happend I really dont care, I have every email just like you do, regardless of how you want to spin this its cool. I have all the time in the world. The fact of the matter is this... you request payment I pay. however I dont recieve what I pay for thats fraud. Regardless of what you might have to refute that its fraud, when you pay for a service or good , give a time when it is to be delievered and are constantly told tommorrow, call back next week. Whatever.. thats fraud. I have taken all the neccessary steps to insure that If indeed im being decieved once again, visa will issue my charge back this time. No questions asked.
Mental Addiction said:Robert,
I will let this go for NOW. I remember the pictures that looked photo shopped. I even rememeber the bill from the so called machine shop that DID the work you claimed. As for the GT28RS, you NEVER directly bought it from me. I remember selling it to someone else and then having your mechanic calling me.
Mazdaspeed6 said:LEt it go or dont for all I care. PM me when my motor is done, if I get it .. then you willnever worry about me on here anymore cause Im done with you guys. You guys run your business like a circus.

Mazdaspeed6 said:We can go back in forth on this issue. I will agree to disagree lets just resolve the issue we have at hand on my motor. you can say that im a lying SOB and I would be inclined to feel the same about you however that is not going to make your reputation or whatever better and doesnt help me out at all as far as my vehicle situation. Just for the record those photos where not shopped... I find it funny that someone questions my integrity when in hinesight should be worried more about their's.

MSPRO said:I understand this and thats why I simply stated what the facts I had been told. You were a great vender when I delt with you and I really hope to see you back there agian soon. Only time will tell, I guess .
ND4MSP said:This is rediculous, if everyone would just stop ordering from these guys they would get there act together.
Judging by some of the post counts in this thread MAM has pissed off the next wave of MSP enthusiasts. So this is likely to continue.
Mental Addiction said:If you go back and look, there's only 2-4 guys that are waiting on parts. Slowmotion parts where shipped 2 weeks ago. I was out of town so I could not provide him with tracking on his gauge rings.
MazdaSpeed6 sent back a motor that was rusted. A new motor had to be built. Pistons ALONE take 4-9 weeks. Then machine work.
The other guy that has been waiting for months is waiting because of upgrades several months after he got his parts. 95% of all orders go smooth. You don't see those. People don't post that. When you get a few a month that go wrong, it get's posted. So what looks bad really isn't as bad as it looks. With the recent move, email and phones being down that has put a strain on things. Things will be back to normal in a week. Once that happens things will get better.
