Zoom Zoom in West Texas.
I did some canyon driving and blasted down some straights when the -fam- was safely tucked away at the in-laws.

Sure

That straight road runs for miles and miles and miles then suddenly WHOOSH down into the canyon you go. If you were to run that road at night and not know where you were going you would be met with a 90 degree right hand turn with a sign sticking out of it that says danger 10% grade.
Then if you were going fast enough you would need fresh underpants or a coffin depending on your speed.

We have lots of canyons, forests, swamps, hill country, desert, and beaches.

I was up in North West Texas this (I think) was East of Palo Dura canyon. There are some smaller cayons up there scattered about.

Nice pics! Reminds me of the time I drove out to Vegas. I've never made it to Texas though. Always, wanted to go.

(drive)

Nice, its great to get out into the countryside like that. I gotta drive quite a ways just to get out of the LA basin. Although, there are plenty of places in LA and Orange County where you can take your car on twisties. My fav drive is during sunset, cruising down PCH starting in Laguna Beach, through Newport and Huntingon Beach, to Seal Beach (where i live). Roll the windows down and crank up the music and smell the salty fresh air while watchin the ladies rollerblading on the boardwalk.

...cya, im goin for a drive! :D

No babes here

Just 98 degrees, blazing sun, and some flat, hot, two lane blacktop to run your car wide open on. The cayon does have a "body" of water running through it known as the "Prarie Dog Town Fork of The Red River." Looks more like a sandy flat spot in the middle of the cayon floor although there was a trickle of water running through it.
None the less it was still a great ride. :D

i drove to odessa tx once from houston and man that trip was the seemed the longest but the road was perfect for driving.

I haven't found an adequate place yet where my Speed can be a Speed..:(

Note to self: Don't ever -pause- ever--pause- now say it really fast ever ever ever let the "Wife" see this fourm. :D

...at my wife's company 4th of July (actually July 3rd) party at their office.

Near the end of the party; I gave rides to a few in the MAZDASPEED aroung the 60,000 sq. ft. building.

Is the Segway Human Transporter fun? Oh yeah! So; if you have a spare $5,000 lying around, get ya one! Top speed is about 18mph.

not to thread jack, but those segways look cool. I think I'd feel like a big ass geek riding one for real though. Maybe they could put some nice aluminum wheels on it, and a spoiler :)

Can they really go over rough terrain with ease?

I wish they had a road like that here in Miami. I would really be able to test my car on an open road. I hope you punched it. Forget 55MPH. More like 100MPH.

LOL saw a guy in his late 60's driving one to work on a bike path that follows our parkway here in Northern VA. Funny site to be stuck in rush hour traffic and see his old guy buzzing by you. :D

Reminded me of the opening sence in Office Space......

Now what I want to see if one hit a person! lol cause supposely it is designed to not injure anyone it hits....

135 baby!

s*** I was way way MAD driving out there on that flat road.
I took the local Sheriff out with my Father-in-law (who is a cop) and went about 110 then stood on those breaks and spun the car around when we had slowed to about 35MPH.
They were like,"Damn this little thang get's to a hunerd fast."
:D

Of course this was on a flat abandon road with several miles of visibilty.
