I just got off the phone with Mazda Canada .... I was speaking to Richard who is their Director of Customer Service (I wish such a thing existed there). Here is Mazda Canada's official stance on the subject of msp's ....
They have always said the msp's will be here in the fall of 2002, but he then reminded me that it is fall until Decmber 21st:bs:
He says that they will be here "November or December"
He says that Mazda will not confirm the delay has anything to do with parts .... that Mazda uses many suppliers and if Mazda has a supplier problem customers should deal with Mazda not the supplier
I reminded him of how angry clients were getting and anxious because winter was coming and we would need tires .... he said he didn't think this car should be driven in winter because it is a collectors car and if it was his he would have it towed to his garage and put up on blocks:wtf:
I pointed out that it couldn't be that much of a collectors car with the 2003.5 coming out now and he said ..... "yes, but they won't be orange, so the first 250 will be collectors cars"(argh)
He said dealers are giving them a lot of heat because the dealers are getting heat from the customers .... but any dealer that gives a date is talking through their hat as Mazda Canada have given no delivery estimates to the dealers.
I told him if they kept the public informed instead of hiding under a blanket of silence, people would at least be a little understanding ..... no, that apparently would lead to too much bad press about their problems with the car. If the cars are ready, we'll be told ... if they won't be here by "fall'02" we'll be told .... other then that, they have no comment.
I also pointed out that they were losing fed-up customers to wrx's and specs every day, and he just had to go to the internet to find out .... he says he would "pass that on to marketing".
This was Mazda Canada's take .... the US branch may say different, but it certainly darkened my day. Anybody want Mazda Canada's phone number?????????(pissed)
