(did a search, didn't find what I needed exactly)

As the topic says.

I was planning to do the 5,000 mile intervals, since it's a hassle to not have my car while @ dealer, but the manual says 3,000 if you run hard, drive slow a lot, etc. (I don't gun it very often, but I have a nasty habit of using 2nd gear below 10mph...)

Anyways, I would do it sooner and get flashed/clunk/etc. at the same time, but I turn 21 in 2 months. Which means I can get a loaner! :D

Any risk of waiting until 5k?

I did my first oil change after 750 miles, after the break-in period, and every 4000 after that. I use Mobil 1 Synthetic 10W-30.

I changed mine at 1300 miles. Now I'm around 2500 miles and come springtime, I'm going Mobil One 5W30. Always OEM filters.

I always change the oil on a new car early, at around 500 miles, and would never go longer than 3000 miles between changes on an MSP.

First was at 1k then 3k. When I got to 6k I switched to Mobil 1 syn. I am now hitting 13k and I change oil every 2500-3000 miles.

First change at 1k and then switched to mobil1 10w-30 and mobil1 filter at 3k. I change every 3k now.

first at 1k second at 3.5k third at 5k switched to redline 40wt for the summer at the 5k had been running 5-30 in at 3.5

is that one better than the castrol gtx 10w-30?? i change the oil every 2500 miles.

I thought the manual said first @ 5k? From what I was told, you dont need to change so early anymore on most newer cars...
