just beat the old bearing out, doesnt matter what happens to the old bearing. Gently hammer the new one in making sure not to damage the bearing. works fine. Did my entire job in 2 hours start to finish with a $25 tool set in my driveway.
I own a mazda 323 protoge 03 model. Recently its been making alota noise from the front wheels at speeds about 45+ klms and gets louder as u turn.
Ive been looking into doing it my self but ive never done sealed bearings befor and found out u might need a huge press to get the bearing out.
could anyone show me how to replace a sealed bearing and is it worth going thru all the trouble doing it urself or should i just go to a machanic.
thanks for the tip
Ive had cv problems befor. they make a clunk clunk clunk nois as u turn and not really any noise as u drive froward. mines like a bad tyre making loud whoo whoo whoo sounds and those sounds get lounder as u turn. I thought they were my tyres at first but i changed them and still same result. Oh and did i mention my cars done 110,000 ks so it might b a factor in this.
