What's The Difference Between the MP3 and MSP 2003.5 Rear Skirts?

MP3 = 00008MC16
03.5 MSP = 00008YC3100

Aren't they the same look, or do they fit differently? What's the deal?

Exactly and shown in the pics in the last post. The 03.5 lip is more rounded off to match the rounded off look of the 03.5 front lip, and IMO only look good with the 03.5 front lip. As you can see the MP3 lip is flatter and doesnt have much shape with it, but im not running the 03.5 lip because I love my fogs so thats the rear lip I went with. They both fit the same.

basically there is no difference between MP3 and MSP until they came out with the 03.5 style with a new front lip(no fogs), new rear lip, and new spoiler.

In addition, the 03.5 rear lip requires no drilling (the 03 has some brackets drilled into the bumper I believe) and it has a cutout look instead of a solid piece all the way around.

Yeah, the installation of my lip did require a few holes to be made in the existing bumper cover, but its not like im gonna be not having my lip there anymore...

ok i have a similar question. i have an 03.5 titanium msp and my rear skirts look just like the ones on the MP3 that was shown in jf.houde's picture, but my front bumper has no foglights (black mesh instead). at my college there is another titanium msp and his rear bumper is the same as the one in the msp in jf.houde's pick but his front bumper looks like this.

mine looks like this, but with the same black mesh covering the fog lights as the kind on the grill.

like i said both are titanium and i know this is my original paint color because i have all of the info from the dealer. i was under the impression that titanium msp were 2003.5 only and if that were the case they should all have the same front and rear bumper, right? so why does mine look like it has MP3 front and rear bumper/skirts?

your car could have been in an accident and they chose not to replace the front air dam, and chose to replace the rear with the accessory rear lip, which is the one that looks like the MP3.

IMO, the MP3 body looks better overall. I've also seen guys that have had issues with the 3.5 rear lip...which was apparently only held on by 3M tape, and they would fall off.

the previous owner probably took off the lip (as many people do) and sold it. As for the rear, he probably too liked the mp3 body better and traded for it and painted to match.

:p

I got the tape rework kit in the TSB and so far the rear lip is holding much better, the tape the body shop used originally sucked.

Mines didn't get installed with any glue or tape, but when I removed it from the MSP I got it off it sure did have a hell of a lot of glue underneath it.

I looked up the part # in the TSB and ordered it from onlinemazdaparts. I can find the part number for you if you want.
