what???

for a minute, i thought it was a wrx by the look of the headlights, but if you look at the style of the wing and front body, its an evolution for sure. not sure which one though.

Yep! Evo III it is.

Its the car that started my dream of owning an Evo :) I'm not sure when my dream will come true though, as I don't see myself being able to afford one in the near future.

This pic reminds me of a Jacky Chan movie from Hong Kong I watched years ago. Its about racing, and Mitsubishi is the sponser of all the cars appeared in it. A silver FTO has its short appearance in a street race, while a yellow Evo III just like this was the main vehicle that Jackie Chan built and raced on track, before replaced by a GTO(3000GT) at the very end of the movie. Very cool movie for the most part, except the ending race(way too much over-the-top stun and speed-up camera shots). Lots of good fighting, racing action, and awesome cars. :D

The Evo III is still one of my favorite cars of all time, second to the Evo V, then my MP3. :)

First of all i'd say that would have to be a mitsu mirage with an Evo bodykit. The front grill looks nothing like an evo, even if it was an EVoIII.

Beautiful car...definitely an EVO although I am not so good with figuring out the different versions. I have a hot yellow one that Popular Mechanics had out for a cruise and even tho it's a newer one, you can totally see the similarities in styling...the headlamps are similar, same with the hood and definitely the spoiler. This particular one does look more agressive on the front tho with that chin spoiler.

tritonheat1,

I'm positive its an Evo III. The Evo III is based off the Mirage(Lancer in Japan) one model older than the Mirage coupe you posted, came out in the early 90's. Could be a 92-93 model, but can't remember exactly out of my head at the moment. I can look it up though as I have a Japanese book that talks about all the history and tuning of the Evos. Tons of cool pics :D The Evo I - III has a much boxier body than the Evo IV -VI, which got the newer rounder body from the model change. Also, its not until Evo IV that they start having those round foglights. Without the white rims and the white eyelids on the headlights, the white one looks identical to a stock Evo III. Can't miss that stock giant intercooler in the front.

Its in the first Gran Turismo for Playstation by the way. I drove a yellow one and won a lot of races with it. :D

Couldn't think of the name at first but a friend remembered... you're talking about Thunderbolt, right? That was a sick movie, I was horrified as to how they abused those innocent sports cars. :'(

That was a good movie though. :D

Yeah Allen,

"Thunderbolt", or something close. Don't really know how they translated the name in English, but that's the one.
