What the faaaaaccckkkkk!!!!!

Hey guys,

So I decided to paint my protege fmic today for that stealth look. I painted the FMIC only on the one side without taking it off the car. After draining the oil catch and installing the bumper back onto the car.

I started the car and it ran like s***!!!! The engine idled high at 2k rpm and then dropped down to 1k rpm and hesitated while at idle to the point I couldn't even drive the car.

Could this problem have been caused from the pipe that is not beeded come loose or could it be the paint on the intercooler or even an open catch can?

Thanks!

I once saw someone that had a whole CP-e FMIC powdercoated, and he didn't have any problems. I would double check the connections. IMO.

If you sprayed it might be your intake filter clogged a bit, either way sounds like am air flow issue.

Well, after waking up at 7am to have the car towed to the mechanic's shop and having the mechanic look at it for 1.5 hrs. The culprit of the problem was the catch can was fully open!!!!! lol. The car runs fast still and even looks better with the stealth look. No more projects for the car this week and I will be taking the bus....
