if you've got boost spiking, have you checked your wastegate actuator?? That can be a very bad boost leak that can lead to severe spiking.
 
freaking when i bought my car i got it dirt cheep but with its kinks (rebuilt) my dad is a very good car builder and i bought my car off another guy because i couldnt find one wreck ne ways i had to replace the wga and also it took me forever to figure out why i was boosting 15-20 psi but i found out that the s*** hooked the wga vac line to a non boost spot and i finally got my car running right and now she runs like a top!!! :D just my two cents but i would check the wga and if you deside its bad (suck on the line and if it doesnt hold its bad) then pm me and ill show you how to change the wga with out removing the turbo did mine in like 15-30 min took longer to put it on the lift than change it.
 
dont underestimate honda/acura. You guys talk about them like there all beatable. I bet a bolt on b16 could take a 180whp msp.

I was beat by a integra when I was on my t3. Kid told me just a swap, I was all cocky like I would win no problem. Nope, I got *****. Kid pulled and pulled and pulled like no tomorrow. But, he was b20/vtec with mild internal work. And I was at 215whp.

And alejo, does your car seem fine, not just that your loosing to certain cars. Does it seem like its at were it should be for your mods, or from compared to before this work. Prob not that your cars running like s***, just that you were plain beaten by faster cars. Especially in Miami, you know half those bad primered cars all have work done to them.

i think i have the same problem but i am pretty much stock right now, just the fmic...i got really dissapointed with this car when a friend beat me in his MOM'S 4 door civic that he borrowed since his car was under repairs

i also get beat by my other friends...lancer ralliary and acura integra with gsr swap

i dont get it, stock for stock we are supposed to be faster
 
WGA was replaced by me...actually..if you check my signature you will see the how-to i made :)

it must be a leak at the manifold, because it never used to spike so high....i shall check this on the weekend...

i'm pretty shure is just a leak where the manifold gasket is....sucks tho..but whatever...i got two replacements i bought, one to try the 626 mani, and the other just in case the 626 mani doesn't work, so can put mine back in
 
No I don't think a b16 would beat a 180whp msp. Especially if your implying that it's modded. I raced a b16 in a hatch Eg, when i was stock. Probably like the 5th day I had the car at night. He was racing someone else and i jumped in and pulled on him and then continued to catch the other car which was an integra gsr. lol I had white neons under my car when I first got it. but they werent sticking out like some people have them. Idiots.

A b18, then I will say it's very possible to beat a 180whp msp.

Ok, well, ive seen bolt on b16's in em1's beat msp's. And modded msp's. 8psi, 3inch catback, injen intake, hardpipes. By buddy with his bolt on 2000 si (i/h/e) pulled my friends msp with me in the car from a roll. It was me and the driver in the msp, and 3 people in the si including the driver. Either the guy didn't know how to drive the eg who you caught and passed, and also the gsr. Only way possible.

*Oh, and a gsr is a b18*

type r is b18c5.....gsr is c1 94-96 c2 foor 96-99... id say boost leak chek your plugs see how your running.... are you lagging?

8 PSI stock PCM = no wheel spin.

8 PSI Tuned = spinning 2nd, chirping 3rd gear.

But it sounds like you've got a boost leak or something.
 
may be driving expirence, not dissin anyone but that deffinitly plays a major role in drag racing. know your car like the back of your hand and you'll see an improvement.(drive)
