What should I ask for this MSP?

I came across a mint '01 Milennia S and I want to jump on it. It's a bigger car and we are expecting a second child this summer, so I'm feeling out the market.

The Details:
I paid close to 25,000 from a dealer in December '06. I know that I'm not going to make any money on it, but that's what I paid. I owe less than that now.
It's an 03.5 silver or grey or whatever.
Replaced the stereo with a sony deck. Replaced in October.
A touch under 60,000km. Purchased with a touch over 50,000km.
5 Speed. 2 sets of rims and tires. Factory racing harts and a steel set of winter hankooks.
Interior is awesome. Replaced the plugs at 55,000 km. Synthetic Oil (Amsoil) change at 55,000km. Extra floor mats (rubber) Full detail (power polish etc) just done in August. Extra Air filter (fram).

I'm not sure what to ask for a car that is in this kind of condition. Exterior is flawless. I thought I'd ask the board for your guys/girls opinionbefore trying to sell it.

The car is bone stock with the full skirt kit and taller wing. We just had the tint done in November and there is a car starter also. Since I've owned it, it has been stored in a garage.

I'm in edmonton and so is the car. It's hardly driven (as you can tell) and at over 500 a month for payments, it's too costly to own as a second car. And with another baby on the way, we will need more room than what the MSP has too offer.
Thanks for looking

Ohhh, I'm sure some "boy racer" will want to buy it. There is no way that I'm going to let it go that cheaply. I figured with the low Km's on it I would be in the 18-19,000 range. Hmmmm something to consider.
Thanks for your thoughts.

this is sounding an awful lot like a "Gauging Interest" thread - which requires forum-legal pictures (see my sig)

I don't think Maxx's number is too far off. He might even be a bit high.
I checked the Canadian Black book thru Toyota.ca. This is what I found.
I assumed 59500Km's. You would be really lucky if somebody would pay $18000 - 19000 for it. Good luck.(thinkbeer

Tony (another Calgary member on this board) Had a hard time selling his spicy for $14... And it had mods.

I think that 18-19 is beyond optimistic. THink of it this way, a used car dealer would give you $9,000-$10,500 if you traded it in. $13,000 privately is what it should go for.

Honestly, the MSP's resale value has declined steeply in the last year or so, due to all of it's problems and the fact that they're really not that "rare." Like Tony's was one of 500 in Canada, and he couldn't sell it for the longest time. Another member on this board (Glen) ended up giving Tony his P5 and a little bit of cash for the car.

I guess we are just going to have to suck it up and finish paying for it. 13000 is considerably less than what I owe on it. 10,100 from a dealer is crazy low. From my end. From the dealership that's probably a good price. I suppose that all car values have taken a major dump in the last little while as the "stronger $" has "helped the economy". I shudder to think what our 11 year old car is worth. I would like the bigger milennia, but I really don't want to swallow another $7000 or so on this car.

Nate, I was more just wondering what the real re-sale was like. If I was going to put it up for sale, I don't think that I would list it on here. It would go in the auto trader or used edmonton.com. Thanks for pointing me to the proper rules and not just deleting the thread. If I do sell something on this board, I will be sure to follow the rules.

Yup..YOu can prbbly get away with 13k in a private sale. And you can try looking in the states for a used car. It's better that way I think.

what do you mean? the MSP has been out for over 5 years - it's held its value reasonably well I think, considering many people paid around $16k for them new

it's kind of funny how people still assume they're in the american forum hehe.
I do not think that at all. I realize that you guys are not in the US. I did not realize that MSPs cost 26k+ in Canada.

Well, according to the OP, a drop from ~25k for a 3.5 year old car down to ~13k for a 4.5 year old car? That seems like a disproportionate drop in that one year...

That's true; I guess it did say that in the first post.

Ya..it's kinda sad really. But what can one do? That's why a lot of us canucks been crossing the border to import a used car instead :)

Ya, you guys don't get it. It's literally RETARTED up here for cars.

Our dollar is pasically par now, and my girlfriend works as a receptionist at Toyota. A fully loaded Yaris is $28,000.

A ******* YARIS!!!!!!

Yup...retarded! I don't think a lot of people in the states understand our situation here. LOL, it's so expensive to buy a car here.
