Hi everyone im new to the forum and have a black msp. The mods currently are an injen cai, custom fmic, greddy rs bov, custom exhaust with injen muffler, boost gauge, and xxr wheels. I was wondering what i should do next. I was thinking about new headers, and raising the boost a few pounds from stock. Ive read on here that you can run 10 psi on stock internals, and was wondering what was required to do so safely.

looking foward to some great help,
thanks

I would use the search feature. Not trying to be a dick.. but it's much more rewarding to just flip through the threads for a few hours. You'll then learn that what you should do next is build the motor.

sounds like you have the supporting mods to run 10psi, but maybe try 8psi first, and be happy with that, dont want to blow up your new car... i would do an intake manifold next, either a 626 manifold, or the 505zoom manifold, good gains both ways. if you want to keep it a dd without rebuilding the engine with those mods try unichip, run a 10psi high map and than a lower dd map, it will be pretty quick...

aight cool, i guess ill do an intake next, and is there any fueling upgrades required to run extra boost?

another thing you could look into is motor mounts and a welded LSD for peace of mind and definitely an AEM UEGO. Then look into some sort of EMS.(SSAFC should work for you) What are your goals for the car? Also, where are you located?

exactly!! You should not be attempting to run 10 psi without a good tune and a Wide band to know you have a good tune. also look into one step colder plugs. they will decrease the chances of detonation.

You should definitely invest in some headers. You'll gain like 30 HP on stock boost, and like at least another 50 if you crank the boost to 10 psi.

EDIT: Ok that was me being an asshole.. I'm sorry. FYI, there is no such thing as headers.. it's a single item therefore it's just referred to as a header. However, turbocharged vehicles such as the MSP have manifolds instead and are typically referred to as turbo manifolds. You can install a header on a NA engine, but not a turbo one.

As far as what next, a wideband and a tune would be your best option. AEM UEGO wideband and SS AFC piggyback should do just fine. And by custom exhaust, do you mean custom catback or does it include the midpipe and/or downpipe as well? What diameter is it?

wow really, i thought my turbine housing was spooled by a hamster not exhaust gases, srry, i was in a rush and threw somthing down, this is actually my friends car and his computer wasnt functional.... and its a custom catback, the dp to to the cat is stock

Build the engine... Then reinforce your LSD... or at least start saving for these things. Keep chasing power in this car and you'll eventually need to do both.(2thumbs)

engine mounts are a must, and a tune will do wonders for you (WBO2 required to do so). if you've got a little more cash and or time... upgrade to a welded diff and a stage 1 (higher if you prefer) clutch.

Get a
Wideband Uego $250 AEM
Then raise hell....but remember monitor your sh*t or you'll blow you'r Sh*t
