What kind of F_ck up intersection is this?

we have some "round abouts" here in ma. they should make the designer of these live in the middle of them for the rest of they're life!! they bite big time! more accidents than you can imagine

I have no idea how pedestrian going to get from one side to the other side of the road in that kind of intersection.

there are lots of traffic circles in Germany, but none of them look like that

I agree.

It won't work here at all, atleast not with all the female SUV owners we have here.

And how. I hate to say this but when I see a woman SUV/Minivan woman driver I yield... doesn't matter if I have the right of way or not. Heck, just the same day I went to pick up my car after repairs, I had to drive off the road onto the sidewalk to avoid smashing my car into this crazy SUV woman. Thank god the sidewalk was leve with the street in that point.... Crazy damn road menace.

It's in Swindon. It's been there for 25 years. Apparently there have been 14 serious and 59 minor accidents in it over that time. Not bad at all, really.

that thing WORKS and appears VERY efficient IF driving etiquite/courtesy is given... something that is very lacking in america... no offense but, comparing american society to societies of many other countries, we are selfish

I think that's not only about selfishness.
I think its more the problem of lack of complete driver education, that's include skill( which a lot of American really lack of) and driving attitude (e.g. SUV drivers think that they own the whole damn road).

Correct.. europeans generally tend to drive "faster" and "crazier" than us. However, getting a license in some european countries is no small feat. WAY more difficult than here.

actually, the faster is only on the autobahns, because in many places there is no limit. There are also rules in place that are different than here to allow that to happen. Primary difference is you have to stay in the right-most lane until you pass, then you have to move back over. They also don't allow flashing of headlights anymore, you have to use your left blinker to indicate a desire to pass.

It was nice driving 120mph from Rhein-Main to Ramstein on a regular basis :D
