It can and will cause idle issues and can even cause lean condition.

Also, Blk I fail to understand your lean issue. A breather does not allow air IN to the engine. The PCV system (duh) is crankcase VENTILATION not crankcase air supply. the air/oil is LEAVING the engine. The only reason OEM recirculates it is because no vehicle would be certified for emissions if it was blowing oil oil out of the motor... make sense? so having a breather vents the oily smoke out to the air instead of reinjecting it into the air stream for a complete burn
