what is the stock turbo's limit on the ms3?

so why hasnt even one ms3 blown up yet. There are plenty of guys running full bolts on and raised boost, fuel cutting, boost cutting, starving for fuel and nothing, not even one. It seems that you look at a bolted ms6 the wrong way and it will pop

LOL!

age. Simple the speeds that have blown up with just bolt ons were first year cars so almost 2 years older getting the s*** beat out of them. And others had huge turbos hell Chris got barely down the road and went zoom zoom boom. Give it time and they will blow. you also have to remember that the Speed6 has more stress on it from the AWD system. Just don't go out there thinking that you can keep on the 3's and they will not break they will eventually start to pop. And Ken did tell me today that a Speed3 guy did pop his motor but that's all he told me, you can call him and ask if you want. not trying to be a jerk just stating what I know.

Man i left the cobalt for these odds........jeez. O Well not the first time i've blown up a motor before. Stock out and take to the dealer is the plan when or if it happens.

I still find it odd. Time will tell. There are many members here over 300whp. Some of hte ms6 guys blowing up have no mods, some of them have lil mods and some of them wen tall out. I'm not trying to start anythign either, im a fan of numbers though. Still dont understand why mazda would advertise the rods as forged, thats law suit material.

Well according to Brian Pauter and a few other rod companies are all in agreement that they are cast rods NOT forged but what do they know huh?
We have sent these rods out to be tested and to have new ones produced.
you sent out MS6 rods, correct? the ones in the pictures Ken has shown were from a MS6, correct?

has anybody even seen the inside of a ms3 or are all these stories about the ms6? I just find it odd that i havnt read about one ms3 having engine problems let alone throwing a rod.

i have :(

RIP my first motor @ 4kmiles :(

didn't take any pics of the turbo... we've all seen it before..
i think i'm the only person here who's on their second MS3 motor and turbo with less than 10k miles....

nope they are from a speed3/6/cx-7 engine ordered BRAND NEW from the dealership...

I know you say this, but the same thing goes if you were to order connecting rods for the old 323 GTX, you would have the same P/N for the NA Miatas. Yet everyone knows those rods are VERY different. This just goes to show that sometimes what the dealer stocks, isn't what you may actually have.

I could be wrong, you could be wrong. Nobody really knows for sure except Mazda...

sorry that the pics so large. took them off my iphone, donno the limit of the turbo... but i sure as hell can tell you the limit of the motor... lol, i can laugh now cause i'm on my second motor and turbo :)

yeah site lists the MS3 as "Type-L3T 2.3L Direct Injection Spark Ignition(DISI) Turbocharged 16-valve 4-cylinder"

and the MS6 as "2.3L DOHC 16-valve I4 with Turbo"

and the cx-7 as "2.3L Direct Injection Spark Ignition (DISI) Turbocharged 16-valve 4-cylinder Inline"

I still think its the way the tune reacts to mods on the MS6 ecu.....

well the dealership doesn't stock the engines we have to order them from Mazda every time we need an engine. We have checked many of times right at the dealership and I have seen their screens and they are the same and Just to make you guys all secure we order them with a Speed3 as the vehicle listed. and those are the ones that have been pictured. We have a full CX-7 Longblock here to get the royal treatment and the inside looks the same, so I don't know what I'm talking about.
