What is the CX5 AWD scrub radius ?

Does anyone know the scrub radius for the CX5, particularly the 2018 AWD ?

Or are these closely guarded Mazda secrets ?

Or how much play in offset do we have before throwing the scrub neutral or positive ?

Granted moving from a 45 mm to 40 mm offset rim will change the scrub
but would be nice to know the OEM scrub to see how detrimental offset changes can be.

Yep! no response yet... Mazda's best kept secret!

Guess there's no Mazda engineers on here that would know ...

Anyone ?

In case anyone wasn't aware..

Your best bet would be to contact Mazda Corporate, or maybe a helpful dealer who would be willing to look into this for you.

Thanks. Interesting article.

Initially was thinking if pushed it slightly positive it would be ok as long as it wasn't zero scrub. but now it seems like negative is definitely better but only way to keep at OEM or go more negative is to get wheels with more positive offset and move from the OEM ET45 to and ET47 or ET50, even.

But then that limits how wide tire you can install without rubbing suspension, etc. definitely scraps my plans for an ET 40 rim unless can find out what the initial OEM scrub is from Mazda.

Gonna have to find a rim with offset 45 or up to 50 max.

I think articles like this tend to greatly overstate the impact of modest changes to scrub radius. A few things to keep in mind are that this is a CUV and not a sports car, so I doubt you’re exploring the far reaches of handling limits too often, especially on all-season tires. Even a 20mm change to wheel offset is not going to be discernible from behind the wheel to the vast majority of drivers. You are not going to experience any kind of untoward handling with an ET40 rim. I’d bet that with the same tires on a stock wheel and your desired ET40 wheel, you’d never tell any difference at all.
