What have you done to your P5 today?

Thank you. Is it worth getting the unbranded headers off from ebay or go with the OBX brand which is abt $200 plus? Any other brands out there that don't cost as much? Thanks again. (smoke)

idk I got some "no name bad" whatever you wanna call em headers for 120$ shipped. I get compliments on them all the time believe it or not. People ask me all the time where to buy them...I'm like hell if I know I don't understand lol

**DOUBLE POST AAAAAAhhhhh

Anyways....I ordered a MSD DIS-2 Plus Distributorless 2 Channel Ignition Box to match up to my megasquirt.

Thank you as well. Will look at ebay and see what's out there.

Well sure, they all look the same. But so do real Brides and fake Brides but which would you trust your life with?

I've heard that the cheap eBay headers are made of thinner steel and will crack easily at the flanges and welds. The cheap eBay header that was on my P5 when I bought it was cracked in two spots. I bought a header that I'm not allowed to mention the small shops' name here on 247 for about the same price as an OBX and it is on it's 3rd P5. We Ohio cats like to swap parts a lot. But personally, I would go with an OBX and have the piece of mind it's not going to crack in the first month. But that's just me.

I have obx and for just a basic header I have no complains

Been wanting to boost but idk y seems like my p5 does not want boost ..

Might end up doing a n/a build after all with custom header

That's my goal for my P5 (basic N/A tuned set-up) with 185K miles on it already with the new OEM engine...just need a little more HP to make it fun to drive with all the mods I've done...esp with the RX8 wheels on them (extra rolling weight compared to the stock set-up).

I know you can't mention the name...if you can PM me instead if that's ok with you. Better yet txt me 480-570-5898

I don't even think he makes them anymore and I wouldn't recommend him because of his shady business attitude. But the header is nice! Haha. You're better off just buying an OBX like most members on here do. I've got OBX headers for my KL swap and they bolted up well (though one bolt hole of the 6 needed a little tweaking to line up properly), good welds and material and they sound good.

Thanks...OBX headers then.

The flanges on my headers ARE HUGE. The material is very thick. At least in my case...their actually very nice headers I don't know why they were so cheap. I have professional welders tell me all the time they love them and "I did a good job on them"

Anyways...

picked up a trailer hitch that will be getting installed tomorrow.

found a tiny road with 2 'S' turns that made me actually laugh out loud. This racing beat sway bar is ridiculous!!!

And i noticed that 1 of my cluster lights is out, time for a google hunt for the size!

Any P5 owners here from AZ that changed to aftermarket headers and if they encountered any issues when going thru emissions testing? Reason I ask is I'm planning to install OBX headers and do the non-fouler mod to eliminate the CEL issues when changing the stock one. Thanks to any one (from AZ and others) who could answer.

maybe, maybe not depending on cost and power gains but still would like to get a header made for the community

It depends on whether or not you will keep your catalytic. If you keep it on, I would think its fine. (I have never taken an emissions personally, word of mouth lol) If not...not too hard to pop the headers off for the test.

Dave @ Spooled Up Racing made, possibly still makes a hell of a good header for the Proteges...

I'm pretty sure this was the aforementiond shop that was mentioned that wasn't mentioned for a reason. ;)

Turned my grocery getter into a hay wagon last night. lol Stopped at a local farm to pick up some hay and corn stalks for Halloween decorating. :D
