What have you done to your P5 today?

IMG-20120619-00567.jpg

fixed my AEM issue and the car now runs with everything plugged in. Had to trace every wire and pin to make sure it was wired properly..

Holy rats nest batman!

Don't worry I feel your pain. Wiring under the dash is a long process. Where u gonna mount it?

ya it sucks cause all the harnesses and wires were organized and heatshrinked/loomed until i had to trace everything to figure out why the car would not start. The AEM is going to go where ever it reaches now, i was going to put it in the space in front of the cup holders but if that does not work ill find a spot. its not that big of a unit. Ill snap a pic once everything is done and its not a huge mess of wires.

Not today but actually over several days.... swapped out my open diff for an MFactory diff... also swapped out 3rd and 5th gears with some GTX gears.. all from Ken at ProtegeGarage.com

Wasn't all that hard with the proper tools... The hardest part was getting the stock diff gear off the stock diff...
Beginning of a terrific journey.

MFactory diff in side it's new home... Everything else we put back in a box to do another day... Needed to order new bearings for the two gear shafts.

New shaft bearing arrived... Back to disassembling the gears to swap out the stock 3rd and 5th with GTX gears.

Pressing out the old bearings. This actually stalled us a few days because I had to pick up the bearing separator($140).

GTX 5th gear set on and finishing up by installing the lock nuts.

After complete assembly... We shifted through all the gears and also tested neutral by sticking a drive shaft in and manually spinning the primary shaft. All seems well...

Please report back how you like your MFactory LSD. Nice work! That puzzle scares the crap outta me.

Today, I recieved my muffler in the mail. I have a couple of good friends that own a shop that fixed me some 2.5" pipe and installed it all for me.

Ebay Muffler for about 35 bucks

It sticks a lil' farther out than I like, but over all I am very happy with it and it sounds ******* brilliant compared to the stocker.

I hate being poor...

I need to have my exhaust moved in about 3 inches so my tip sit's flush

on another note: saw a new MX-5 right before I got to the highway, about 5 mins from my house. It was bright blue, convertible with the top down, red tow hook on the front, and pretty sure it had the same wheels as me

jackie, i feel your pain, 4x4 mode sucks

What mud guards are on your car? Rally armor?

Having a slight vacuum leak so I've begun replacing hoses that need it. Noticed my intake hose was faded and starting to dry-rot on the outside. After work I went to NAPA and got a brand new black hose

It's not a "T" joint, it's a 90 degree fitting that comes from somewhere around the brake booster and goes directly into the fuel rail
