What have you done to your P5 today?

NiteShades! Baby!
Really not as dark as they look on the camera, can still see lights from 100+ feet away.
Also, I am going to NiteShades the chrome emblems, except for the 5 in the protege5 logo, I dont want them completely black, this way the emblem will approximately match the color of my rims and still be shiny

Also check out raammat (www.raamaudio.com). Less than half the price of dynamat

Still not very cheap, the stuff I bought was a little over $11 per square meter. Dynamat is over $100 per square foot, B-Quiet Extreme is roughly $40 per square meter. That RAAMmat stuff is cheaper, but still over $26 per square meter.

Keep in mind that whatever I'd order would have to be shipped here which would be crazy-expensive. My ghetto solution will be good enough :P

Rebuilding my intake system due to a vacuum leak(top intake manifold gasket had a nice chunk missing). My labeling system for the vacuum hoses went south, now I'm trying to remember what went where. Only ones I have no idea with are the three from the...thing bolted to the bottom section of the intake manifold, below the throttle body. Does anybody know offhand?

last time I use electrical tape to label dirty hoses:s
My bad if it's not cool to ask on the first post, this is really the only thing I've done to my car so far, I figured this would be a good time to make an entrance

Welcome!

Your pic didn't show up in your post, but does this help?

Don't forget guys/gals, there is a complete Mazda workshop manual stickied in the top of the P5 section. It should be downloaded by everyone. Pretty much any question you need answered is in there for ya. :)

Just rolled over to 50k yesterday. :D
So I decided to give my car a little present and installed my 3 pod column gauge pod with glowshift gauges (cabpatch)

NICE! I did that today too! lol, oh and painted my rear lower bumber black to match the NiteShades tail lights, I will post some pics when it dries. Oh and I painted some interior pieces to match the black guage pod, will also post some pics once they are dry.

Changed out my AWR passenger motor mount that cracked and was replaced for free for the upgraded version.

^mmmmm I love first-gen Miatas.

Today I drove my P5 for the first time in about a week! Without the carpet it's bloody loud inside :)

Also I checked the lateral run-out on 3 of my rotors. The rear 2 were within spec (~0.001", Mazda says it should be < 0.002") but the front right rotor was 0.006". I was going to do more testing but I broke my new dial indicator by dropping it...

Can't wait to see how they come out.

I did my cup holders and now i just have to finish up the rest of the little interior pieces. What did you use on the lower valence to paint it? I plasti-dipped mine.

Also, how did you mount your gauge pod? Mines...falling off already >.< The heat is messing with the double sided tape and its sagging off.

Where'd you mount em with double sided tape? And what kind of tape you use?

Painted rear lower valence, looks pretty dang good. Used plastic spray paint made for plastics from krylon, also put four coats of clear and buffed to a shine with a air powered buffer.

Oh, I put my gauge cluster on with double sided tape, however I used the expensive red backed stuff you get from auto parts store. When applied correctly it will hold for year, like our side molding and emblems.

Hatch, try the red backed 3M double sided tape like the cat above used. I've used it for lots of things and it works great.
