What have you done to your P5 today?

Got the oil changed yesterday. Today I had the timing belt done (right on schedule), along with the water pump and tire rotation. I am kicking myself for not ordering the cam shafts as the valve cover was off and easy access for the mechanic to swap out the cam's.

Managed to dump mine in the ditch. Pulled over to the shoulder to do a u-turn, and as soon as my tire hit the snow, the car grabbed and kept going in the direction it wanted to. Too late to try and get it out now, so hopefully I can get it out tomorrow without the need of a tow truck. Pics to follow tomorrow :)

You need to clean the EGR, not the Throttle body...

Yes.. I know I'll have to go down there too but it's been behaving a bit better after spraying TB cleaner in the air intake. I was too lazy and it was too cold out there to get the EGR out. BTW, cleaning the TB has to be done by two persons because if I start the car with the hose off it would only allow me one push in the accel pedal before shutting the engine off. Maybe I'm missing something something.. any ideas? Thanks for replying!

How much did it cost you all parts? Just want to have an idea. My P5 has 190K and I am thinking about the t belt and water pump replace in one job.. thxs in advance

damn that sucks. im glad I havent done something like that yet with these bad tires yet.

Maybe you guys can help me out too. I've got a weird clunking coming from the front drivers side of my wheel. It's only when I turn and the car will pull to the left a bit untill I make a right turn, then I hear a couple clunks and the car will drive straight again. It only does it around slow turns, like at an intersection or in my driveway. I had an alignment in April of 2010. It started about a month ago. I jacked up the car today and took a look and everything seemed tight and no obvious signs of anything broken, torn boots or anything...

Any ideas?

test fitted some new intercooler pipes, all 2.5", fit a few more studs into the head, fixed one stripped bolt hole with helicoil,
and drained all the oil out of my intercooler
about to order a 2, 3" v-band clamps and 2, 3" v-bands rings to finish my downpipe, but first have to wait until my turbo comes in so i can measure and figure out what couplers and piping to buy for the intake

Had a slow leak in front right tire, hit up Discount Tire, turned out to be a loose tire valve. They fixed for free and gave me the all around tire balance. Now I can make it through the Snowboparding season before buying new tires. I've got my eye on some Falkin 912's.

Installed new CD deck with USB port. First time for me. That was a breeze. I'll never be intimidated again ;-)

Only pic I had time to take:

That is where the car was. Doesn't give it justice, but that is about a 45 degree angle, and where the front passenger corner was, snow was about 1/8 of the way up the windshield. Pulled out no problem with a Jeep.

I did not get an itemized list for the part cost. But it was $550 total for the parts and labor. Kicking myself for not ordering the cams at the valve cover was off and would have been an easy job for the mechanic to slide them in.

thinking of getting a double-din indash dvd player (449 at best buy for a pioneer) but first got to get my remote start to work... at least the alarm portion works.

i'd check out crutchfield.com first...i got a H/U from them for $139.99 shipped with everything needed and at bestbuy the same one goes for like $449 or so. by the way, where did you get your remote start and alarm? i'm thinking about getting one and wanna check them out

seriously thought about trading her in... so sad.

she just needs so much work. dont think the tires are gonna last much longer... also think both front bearings are shot.

a mazda6i sport..

24 month lease, 15000 miles a year...

only $202 a month... with no money down.

i need a bigger car... for the kid. plus, the 6 would probably get better mileage than my p5. im only getting 25mpg if im lucky right now.

Cutting some 8mm spacers on the cnc at work today to accommodate the bigger very squared off profile 225/40/18 Direzza Z1 Star Specs and hopefully won't have to raise the coilovers with a little fender pull :)

I'd love to but unfortunately machine time is sooo tight!

I'd be selling spacers, 3" cutouts and straight neck thermostat housings
