What have you done to your P5 today?

Sheeyit, should I take the Turtle Wax one back? It was $15 and the Meguires was $25. Usually people are jut paying for the Meguires name... The Turtle Wax brand has 3 different polishing pads, a lubrication and polish whereas the Meguires just had the ball for a drill, polishing compound and a cloth.

oh so you bought a whole kit for headlights? if you did then i would just go with that
i just bought the compound, a while back, i have so much compound for paint/headlights in my garage its ridiculous lol
that turtle wax should work about the same as the meguires

Went to the drag strip with it and my dad had his 08 6.4l f-350 with a edge programmer.
First time I've ever driven on a drag strip. I didn't know it for the first run but they had traction compound for all the real race cars. Let's just say there was some maga wheel hop at the start of the first run. It scared the hell outta me, Lol. My best run was a 17.957 @ 77.35mph. I can do better but that was only my second run ever so I haven't got everything figured out yet. There were a lot of cars out so I only got 3 runs and I missed second on my third run .
My dad ran a 14.35 @ 89.4mph

I'm sorry, I picked up Rain-X brand headlight restore, not Turtle Wax. Turtle Wax was $8, Rain-X was $15 and Meguires was $25. I just did my headlights. Basically the kit includes little sponge sandpaper wedges in 3 different grits, polishing compound, polishing cloth, "lubricant" for the wet sanding and a "sealer" with shines and fills in the small scratch marks when you're all finished. Certainly worth the $15. My headlights were really hazy and I was tempted to buy Scratches MSP headlights just for the lenses. But the lenses came out great after using the kit. I did the sanding process 3 times on each headlight lense. My arms are tired from scrubbing but worth it.

I think this kit would be better than the Meguires drill/ball kit because you can get into all the little spots the ball probably wouldn't fit into, right around the grill.

My drivers side lense was worse but I forgot to take a pic before I started working.

The pictures don't do the Rain-X kit justice but I'm very happy with the results.

I also changed my oil and am about to paint the interior silver bits black.

There's usually two standard spark plug socket sizes. We use the smaller size on the P5. I wish I knew more specifics than "the smaller of the two" but I'm sure someone else will chime in.

Put on my new tires.....Falken Azenis 215/45/17's....Look pretty nice compared to the Potenza 205/45's I had, Just Need MOAR LOW and fix my paint now. Will put pics up tomorrow.....

Any further out pics of your ride? Trying to gauge how a silver P5 looks with blacked out headlights.

Sure, there are more in my build thread in my sig. But here are some good ones my friend took at a photo shoot. Blacking them out really isn't hard to do at all. I did mine last summer and I haven't had any problems with condensation inside the housing or paint peeling/chipping inside. I'm kind of a pusher when it comes to blacked out headlight though, I just think they look so much better. And all it will cost you is a can of black spray paint, a small tube of silicone sealer (just to be safe when re-sealing them) and about 4 hours of labour. If you have any questions PM me and I'll gladly help you out.

Spent a 100 bucks at harbor freight today. Ratcheting wrenches metric and sae (9.99 each!), corded drill 0-3000 rpm, drill bit set, measuring caliper, and a real buffer. I have plastx so first chance I get, the eyelids are coming off and the headlights are getting worked. What rpm should I go at with the plastx?

Also installed my passenger side slim fan. Holy s*** it was a tight fit. Had to take the hot pipe off to slide it in there. The car sounds like a jet fighter when ac is on and both fans are on lol. Pictures will come soon.

Hoping to get a chance to install the coolant overflow from SignatureSound as well as possibly the oil catch can. We'll see if I have time.

Thanks, Lewis. I actually purchased MattV retrofits that are blacked out. Just wanted to get an idea how blacked out lights will look like when I mount them. Mine won't look as good since my P5 is stock and still has fogl lights. I think the fog deletes make the blacked out lights look better.

rpm doesnt really matter when your using a buffer, i use mine on like 1500-2500 for everything lol the faster u go the more likely your going to melt/burn through s***

and twis, nah dont have any pics, but its not really too much lower then it was before, which is disappointing, i may have to modify the rear struts the same way i did the fronts

I got my Perrin fuel rail in the mail yesterday from LaserBlue. I'm hoping to install it tomorrow after a meeting with the AZMC crew.
