What have you done to your P5 today?

I was just thinking, if anyone has spare intake manifolds laying around they want the VTCS removed and/or port and polish, let me know. I can do it for you and ship it back in a day or two. I can also paint the intake manifold while I have it.

I don't know if I'll need an AMM status for that. I've just done it twice before now and it's a pretty simple job but I understand not everyone has a Dremel, knowledge or a garage to work in. You guys pay for the shipping, I'll take it home and do the work when I receive it, wait a day for the paint to dry (if applicable) then ship it back the next day. I have no life so they would be shipped out pretty quickly, in a day or two. Just trying to help out some members who might be hesitant because it's sound more difficult than it is. I'd charge $20, mostly to cover the 2 packs of Dremel sanding drums, QuickSteel and spray paint. Just throwing it out there for you guys, no pressure!

It all depends on the curvature of the runners. The surface could be smooth, but if air is routed in a way that would result in "eddies" or other swirling patterns, that would be turbulence. Bottlenecks caused by over porting certain areas or uneven porting can cause this.

Ahhh, okay,I could see that. I just more or less just evened out the poor mold job Mazda did on the runners near the flange. I didn't go crazy boring anything out.

Lewis, if I had an extra manifold I'd definitely let you do that for me but unfortunately I don't. :(

I have two cars, I might consider this, awesome of you to offer...

Going to finish up the interiror suede tonight. Things got crazy at work these past two weeks. Also still fishing up turbo parts =)

That's a hell of a deal, very generous of you to do it almost free. If I still had my car and had a spare intake I would take you up on that.

No problem. Like I said, it's mostly just labor and I feel bad charging people for labor. Plus I like working on car parts, especially if it's for other members making horsepowa.

I'll ask Fishy if he could take a pic of the job I did on his intake manifold so you guys know I'm not just a noob hacking up your precious intake manifolds... I'm very patient and take my time and do the job right, no worries. Ask Phen! Haha

Yeah... in fact, he gives me s*** for how fast i blow thru jobs that I do. Of course, usually the car repair has to be done quickly because the car needs to be working the next day so I literally FLY. No so much with him.

Oh I know he does... I trip over the bloody thing while going to my tool box... ;)

I'm not saying a definite yes or know, but I know it's quite similar. If I had a spare head, I'd try to mount it up. I'll ask someone who knows.

Haha! Phen, I think that one intake manifold isn't what you're tripping over on your way to your toolbox. It might be your 5 sets of wheels, 4 springs, 2 Honda motors, 4 shocks, empty boxes and dead bodies.

I'll look into seeing if that 1.8 intake mani will bolt up too, Matt. Vicually, they do look very similar.

Hahaha, I was hoping you'd say something like that.

Personally, I don't think that it will. FP's had a number of parts different than FS's.

I'm with Phen. I think you're better off going to the junkyard and finding a 626 with better runners.

*Edit, or since Scratch just posted above, buy his!

Mine isn't for sale...it came in usefull when I swapped though...I sold my other spare in that partout thread though...$35 shipped...
