What have you done to your P5 today?

decided today that im ordering tokico blues and springs during finals week as a present to myself for the summer. less than a month and ill be low!

added a new grounding kit. Sealed everything up. The H2S at my work place ate up all the copper from the old grounds. =( its ok the new set must have boosted some horsepower. lol

I need to install mine, I've had it laying around for awhile. How hard was it to do it?

Actually, it's not really a ground kit. It's two 6 foot long cables that are about 4 gauge. Can I use these at all?

That's enough to do a big 3 upgrade.

1. Battery - to chassis ground (strut tower)
2. Chassis ground to engine (strut tower to bolt on engine/trans, just follow the factory wire)
3. Alternator + to battery + (needs to be fused)

Drove to and from iSport (about 230 miles round trip). Pics of wing lip coming in a few minutes

see i did my ground wires totally different. I did seperate wires to the four corners of my engine and to the alternator and to the chassis. im not quite sure why they have you wiring up the tranny in that how to because unless it is electronically assisted, grounding it really shouldnt help anything. Its like with any mazda 2004and after, if you ground a wire to the TB, it makes a hell of a difference for throttle responce and things like that. but thats because it is an electric TB, not a wire one like ours. Just my early morning rant, now to go hang out with inmates.

^^ the bigger the cable the more power can be pushed through...amp wise... i have about 6k watts in the trunk... ( 4 1500.1 @ 1 ohm stable ) and I also have 1000 to my mids and highs... so the amperage output my the altenator is a huge demand... on a stock car... 4 gauge will do... but with a heavy duty system... you need the 1/0 cables

Agreed, I don't have any major audio equipment. Secondary alarm, hella supertones, and possibly HIDs in the future, are about my only needs. But oem wires are 8 ga, so 4ga is still an upgrade. And you can run better grounding locations than they do from the factory. I had all sorts of dimming and electrical issues before I beefed up and re did my grounds. Everything is good now.

I have a mono block D class and 2 12's sitting in my basement, but I never hooked them up in the mp3. Had a nice little system in my FC, lol. Maybe one day when I'm bored I'll fab up a new box for them... Still have top of the line RCA's and everything handy too.

Sweet baby jeebus, 6,000 watts in your trunk? Wow! Haha! It always amazes me how much power you guys run. I'm a bass player and have a 350watt head and a 3x10" cabinet and that rig is plenty loud for any gig I've done. Don't get me wrong, I love bass and clean tone so I'm sure your setup sounds great. It just continues to boggle my mind of all the POWA! (headbang)

6000!?!?!?!? Good lord! We've got 600 in Callie's and it sounds amazing!! Louder than i can stand and stays clear!

Putting 400 down in the miata and even that is insane

is that 6000 rms or peak watts?

6000 rms.... about 9000k peak.. my amps are rated at 1500 @1 ohm stable rms and around 2600 @1ohm peak ( rockford amps are ALWAYS under rated.... and the bigger the amp the more that they over power them to make them a stable level..

s*** i have 2 VIBE space subs... black death 15's that just went in.... 3000 RMS.... 9000 watts peak ( each )....

im not trying to blow windows out... but... i like to make a statement at times

So does your car actually move under the weight or do you just tow it to shows? (boom07)
