Plus, Callie is wanting to cut back her hours at work, so, by selling the P5 and getting a cheaper miata, I ditch the car payment

I'm literally cringing as I say this but maybe it's time to trade the car in? Get something newer as a more reliable DD?

^ me? I can and have DD'd the Bimmer, the P5 was purchased for DD and college parking lot duties. So far I've saved about 13,000 miles on the BMW...

Will pick up and install a new thermostat tonight, drove the Bimmer to work today. (headbang) It'd old, its slow, but damn its a lot faster than my P5.

Interesting though as I called a local "low-milage engine source" place yesterday before making the trip home from work. $1700 for an engine with 57,000 miles, uh, no thanks!

I'm jealous. I don't understand why I still love my P5, its such a pile of $h!!+. But, after replacing nearly all of the suspension, the motor is about the only problem right now. How important can that be?
