What have you done to your P5 today?

I dropped her off at the shop again. Getting another pipe made and getting a new BOV and flange welded on because the last one sucked and leaked. Anyway, hopefully by the end of this week everything will be done after about 3 weeks of waiting and headache. All for something I could have done myself if I only had a TIG welder. If all goes well this weekend will be the GTSpec rear cage install and some other fine tweaks plus some much needed detailing. Looks like I'll be just a day or two too late for the MOTM.

have fun doing the trunk cage... i know i did... you would think it would be a straight foward install... but it doesn't come with installation instructions... I practically puzzled that sh!t together... if you need any advice when installing just hit me up unless you already know how...

I just noticed, from the link redneck sent in the motavation pic thread, than he won motm on AZMC!

Congrats Bill!

Next time u are up in MI I would love to check out your ride!

Thanks,

I was in Alpena for two weeks this past July. I even started a thread about it in the michigan section. I'm working on getting back again in the fall in the next year or so, this way I can hunt some deer.

Yeah, I was curious about this as well. Fortunately GTSpec has like 10 pictures of the cage on their website so I just saved all those and will be using them to put it all together. It seems pretty straightforward. My only dilemma now is whether or not to try to keep some of the interior trim.

That interior trim does alot more sound deadening than you may think!

How's your oil burning situation?
Yeah, someone else mentioned this as well so I'll have to see. I'll probably drive around without them for a while to get a feel for the new stiffness and if the noise is unbearable I'll start cutting them up to put back in.

LOL, the oil burning situation... Um, I'm almost certain now my turbo is gone - either that or my return line is so bad that it's blocking up the turbo but I really have no other choice as to how to route it. I get a lot of smoke when the boost really starts to build. I thought it was the valves for so long but when I removed the exhaust manifold everything looked fine. I also did a compression test not too long ago and all four cylinders were 195 psi or higher.

AWR ****** SUCKS!!!!

so after taking off and putting back on my sway bar like 4 or 5 times just to get it to stop clunking it finally stops clunking
so im walkin around outside and see a little rubber washer that could be part of the way bar so i say wtf where did this come from

i go and look under my car AND I DONT HAVE ANY ****** ENDLINKS ON EITHER SIDE!!
so either someone stole them from me or they ****** fell off, either way this bar is a piece of s*** and im through with AWR products PERIOD

keep an eye out on Craigslist and Ebay.

Nobody is stealing my stock setup. lol

yea i guess thats what happened...

im currently unemployed and i just had to shell out 91 bucks for some new endlinks, this ****** sucks

i need a new job already

I've been riding around without any for a month since one of my tabs broke off of my coilovers :(
Surprisingly I haven't rubbed once!

yea i noticed the car was kinda quiet lately....it was weird
then what do i know, no endlinks lol

the sway bar is still on there in the same position and everything, it didnt move at all so i couldnt tell anything was wrong

This is sad if endlinks are being stolen! Speaking of sway bars, is the front one a major PITA to remove?

i've had my awr for 5 yrs, used the big rubber gromets (stop the clunking)and no issues?

I can probably pull my tranny dis-assemble it re-assemble it and put it back in the car quicker than you can replace the front sway bar.

Hmm, I don't like this statement, lol. Okay, so is it worth bothering to change the front? I got the Racing Beat (MSP) front and rear sway bars and I was thinking of installing them. Should I just change the rear or will it mess up the handling?

I finally got my new radiator cap to use with the Corksport radiator. Now all I need to get is some new fans. I think two 12" SPALs will do just fine. Anyone here ever rig both fans to kick on instead of just the one?

EDIT: Just bought a new air filter, two new SPAL fans, a mounting kit and two pigtails for the electrical connections. That should give me something to do.
