What have you done to your P5 today?

Picked up my mazdaspeed swaybar set. I'm only installing the rear. If anyone's interested in a front mazdaspeed swaybar, shoot me a PM and we can work something out. I won't be asking much.

And for the record, she's still rear swaybarless :(

Received and installed my JDM tails today. Got em for an awesome deal on ebay $180 shipped. I really wanted to support Corksport, but the $30 difference in price is a couple meals for this starving college student lol. I promise the next thing I buy will be from corksport, protegegarage, or onlinemazdaparts; gotta support the companies that support the community.

Installed new plugs, PCV and Front pads and rotors. Washed her as well.

Waiting on new rear wheel bearings and then do the rear pads and rotors.

I saw some on eBay too. Did yours come complete with a harness to plug in?

Yes they did. Took longer to drive home from work (<5 miles each way) and back and unbox them than it took to install haha.

I don't think they were true OEM though, since they came in boxes with the Depo brand name on them, which isn't a bad thing, since Depo makes the best quality aftermarket lighting.

Still going strong without a CEL but....

Last night I got pulled over and was issued summons for: illegal window tint, and improper exhaust - non factory.

I will be going to court and contesting both of these because the first offense was the window tint - how do you get someone for illegal window tint on an unlit road at 11 PM at night? Also, if I have read VA law section 42.6.1049 correctly it states that an exhaust must be in perfect working order and be one of factory make or an exhaust that exists as a replacement for the factory system (it also mentions a lot of stuff about noise but the trooper made no mention of how loud my system was period). The CS exhaust I have is indeed a replacement for the factory exhaust, performance or not. I just think the trooper was bored and felt like pulling over the first person he saw for some BS charges. I am hoping that because he pulled me over for illegal window tint first, that I can get him for pulling me over just upon speculation. Trooper was such a bastard...

Sorry to hear about your asshat trooper incident. I had one of htem on the 4th of july with my front plate violation. Tried to pin we with a seatbelt too...but I always wear that.

Currently I'm cursing my P5 for the electrical gremelin I have. I may have to just swallow my pride and send it to the stealership.

Repaired two stripped exhaust manifold bolt holes with heli-coils. Had to remove the complete manifold/turbo assembly/downpipe/fans/rad so I could drill the holes out. Even then I needed an angle drill! What a PITA!

i just installed my aem wideband, and its all over the place. i get reading from 10.1 up 16.2, sometime it goes all the way up and down to a point of no reading at all on both ends. did i do something wrong on the install, or am i running that bad.

So we have a thread about what we have done to cars and a thread about what we messed up while doing said things to cars. Haha. There is irony somewhere there.

Maybe it's that love/hate thing again.

stock ecu? probably normal.

Today I chaired an autocross so I got a couple runs in to test the course. It went very smoothly so we did extra runs at the end so I got a few there too :D The car was getting real loose but it was flying! I let my friend drive it and it sure smokes those tires exiting corners in 2nd. It sounds real good though. Oh, and good thing I got those new brakes pads on my desk here... my Axxis Metal Masters were smoking O_O

well, my CEL came back yesterday evening after driving through the mall parking lot (pretty rough roads). so i'm almost wondering if the actual connection for the wiring between the sensor and the rest of the harness is funky, and the sensor itself is ok... (scratch) magnum, maybe this is your problem too? dunno. my non fouler is clean now, just a little rusty on the outside after two years of being under the car, so i know that's not the problem.

is there any way to check if the connection is faulty? if it is, how can i determine which end is the 'problem' and how can it be fixed? the car is running a bit better even with the CEL, but i hate having it on all the time and i don't want to buy a new OEM sensor if it's the connection that's bad... ugh, the joys of owning a car. lol
Well mine just came back on today as well ~100 miles later. This time I am going to remove the sensor from the nonfouler just to make sure the sensor itself isn't junked up (can't do it today though - raining). Right now, I hope the sensor got junked up because of how rich I run but it seems like I'm probably going to have to get a new sensor. I really, REALLY hope there is nothing wrong with the wiring harness. I just think it's weird that I installed a new exhaust and no problems for almost two months and then, BAM! oxygen sensor goes. I've had oxygen sensors go on my other vehicle, but it's nearly a 22 year old truck. Guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow when it's dry, then pull and clean the sensor and then put it in again with the code cleared and wait. If it comes back on it's $110 down the drain... ugh...

Psst... magnum, ditch that stock ECU junk asap :)

At least then your CELs will be replaced with more fun problems :D
