What have you done to your P5 today?

indeed. If only you could see the downpours in Rochester right now.. I even gave my mountain bike a quick tuneup last night just in case the rain let up so I could ride to advance auto parts. .. looks like I'm gonna have to suck it up and just go. Getting soaked riding my bike is still much more pleasant than even considering figuring out the wild and crazy Rochester public transportation system.

wait.. wonder how much a cab fare would be, advance auto is only about a mile and a half away :)

how close to the non-fouler should the O2 sensor be? I know when I did mine it was a tight squeeze and didn't leave a whole lot of room for air to get between the sensor and the non-fouler. Would that cause the rough idle? It didn't trigger a CEL though and wouldn't that trigger a CEL if there was a problem there?

I got one brake line off (rear passenger side), the others are being a pain in the butt. Oh and I got one side of the clutch line off. I guess I'll go work on the lines again (sprayed them with pb blaster) and then after tiring of that I'll slap all the calipers/pads/rotors on.

Did you drill a half inch hole through one of the nonfoulers?

yea...it was a half in it was just a tight squeeze. eric said he didnt remember his being that tight but i dont c y not considering it was still a half inch

I don't see how the downstream O2 has anything to do with idle tho. It may throw a CEL, but you can run just fine without one. Ask me how I know....

ractive header? I ran without the downstream O2 sensor for years no prob (CEL of course). Maybe it's a thing where having the sensor unplugged is a lot better than having it plugged in sending a bad reading?

if it was a bad reading the ECU would generally pick up on that. And I still maintain that there is no reason the car should run like that because of the DOWNSTREAM O2 sensor.

And no, rushed install. We (er...me) forgot to plug it back in (rofl).

Your supposed to drill through an entire fouler and then put that drilled fouler on top of the other. then your O2 on top of that and it should fit fine. Mine hasnt had a problem yet. Did you just drill half way or through an entire fouler(there should have been two when you bought them)?

also check to see that all the bolts are on the header. that might be another problem(not that you were dumb enough to forget one (confused) )

yea i did both. it fit it was just tight, like maybe a mm or so all around

too long maybe? they were 18 mm though... the nonfouler came to the edge of the o2...it didnt stick out at all, should it have?

So...do you just ignore stuff that doesn't agree with what you think or what? Even IF you have a problem w/ the 2nd O2, it wouldn't be causing your engine to idle that rough.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

^^^ LOL. Stop being so ruff on him man. I don't know ams....sounds like it might be something might have moved in the engine bay when you put the headers in.

Just by any chance.....have you checked the spark plug wires(I know those don't move when your putting the headers in but heck it could be that they are messed up and now you noticed)?

but what wud have moved? :( idk...it suxxxx. i thought egr maybe but it's not really fluctuating other than occasionally just a low idle

I honestly don't know man. Like I said, check the spark plugs and wires. And also check that the air box is on there tight. Maybe too much air is coming in...but that wouldn't do that anyway.....

i just replaced sparks like 3000 miles ago... what would i be looking for on the wires?

I don't see how I'm being hard on him. I haven't gotten one reply from him on my posts about not chasing an issue with the 2nd O2 sensor.

Amsgator, you can keep running in circles if you'd like, but that's not your issue. I also never got a reply when I asked if you're thowing a CEL. Are you? If so, have you gotten it read yet?
