What have you done to your P5 today?

Oh yeah here is a picture....don't mind the dirty engine bay. I'm cleaning it this afternoon before taking the for sale thread pictures.

Right now I'm checking for bulk pricing on the shocks. I will purchase everything I need for the first 10 kits today so they will be available by the middle of next week. If I don't get bulk pricing the kits will be around $100 shipped. I am trying to take off as much as possible. The kit works great and is a breeze to install. Seriously it only takes lik 15 minutes to do.

and from what i've heard (with the other kits) you can just take off one strut if you have a carbon fiber hood. two guys with carbon hoods could split the cost of a kit, making it uber mega cheap :D

It should use the stock latch. The only thing you're adding is the shocks to keep the hood open instead of the stock 'perch'

No for the carbon fiber I am using a different lbs. shock. Already got that figured out. (thumb)

I don't feel comfortable w/ one shock. It seems so much more stable/safe w/ shocks on both sides.

Edit: Actually I need a test case for this. I know it works but refuse to sell a product that has not been tested. Anyone w/ a carbon fiber hood looking for a great deal?

Exactly! The hood closes or rest no different than stock position. I made it using existing holes on the car so it can not be messed up in the insallation process. It's a no brainer.

^^ just FYI, quite a few cars come with just one hood strut stock (my rental car for instance, not that I'm saying anything done by Pontiac is a good thing because I'm not.. at all.. seriously worst car ever).

Oh yeah I agree. My thing is that w/ carbon fiber hoods I can just imagine someone trying to close the hood on the opposite side of of the shock and it cracks or something. It may not happen but either way it's just a safety factor.

PMed about needing an test case...

you know the normal shock therapy... shock being lift shock for a CF hood and i'll be the guinea pig to see if it catapults off the car, lol...

Trip to the post office to ship the clear corners from the Vue (gotta love ebay). When I walk back into my office, what do I see? Box of Mazda6 wiper conversion parts begging to be put on. (2thumbs) to Jason @ http://onlinemazdaparts.com shameless plug :)

**edit**Props to Dave for his kit! Will add it to my list of 'things to do' but first and foremost I need brakes!
