(mswerd) (iagree)

Today, I wanted to cry and scream...it appears the cams from the Aussie GB may have fitment issues, NOOO !!!

Nonetheless, assembling parts list for eventual install:
Valve cover gasket, timing belt, spring tensioner, gray RTV, feeler gauge, hmm what else?

you the first of the group to install?

Fitment issues? how so??? damn I just unsubscribed from that thread today, I have over 3500 thread subscriptions and every morning when I first come on the forums there's like 60-75 new threads bumped on my usercp.. it was getting out of hand haha.

so i definately drove by like 3 cops today and my x50 didnt go off at all...is that bad or does it just mean they weren't shootin? it was in traffic so its not like I could speed anyway but yea... :-\

ok. i figured as much. and what band do false alarms usually come on? X or K? I thought X but not sure.

yeah usually X.. car alarms, power doors at stores, and lots of other stuff sets off X. Plus the sensors that they put on all the lights to allow emergency vehicles to make the lights go green, they set off X.

I never really got those detector things...when it goes off, doesn't that mean they've already got you on radar and you're screwed?

nah.. they can detect from multiple miles away (if you're like.. in a flat desert area on a straight road) and legally they can't confirm your speed from that far away. You have to be pretty darn close.

ok. i get weak K bands sometimes, just a cop far away?

they probably figure that there are so many senior citizens in FL that they don't bother...only the 5% who are under 65 y/o speed

so, i went to drop off my paycheck, and found a tiny ass 1 lane road through a park, that has many sharp turns in it, and non one was around. and it looped around in a circle, so i took her for a spin around it, its kinda like an auto-x, but with very slight elevation changes, and through the woods

Wow, I did the very same thing! Ok so it wasn't a one lane road but there were quite a few elevation changes as well as a variety of corners. The only problem was that it has rained a little today so I about sent myself off the road (ughdance) . I'm still not used to the power my P5 makes now. Either way, it was stupid and I won't be doing anything of the sort again on a public road. Gah, I need to find a track or nice open parking lot to have fun it...

Got my P5 back today. New PS pump and coil pack, and I got to drive around a Mazda6 the dealership gave me while they were fixing my car.
