What have you done to your P5 today?

While wrench positioning may be awkward, once you get into it and see how it's put together it should be pretty easy. Disconnect the EGR pipe (that comes from the exhaust manifold), pull a vacuum hose or two, undo a couple bolts, and the bugger falls right off. Get the new one and go backwards.

Under the hood looks pretty daunting at first until you start taking stuff apart and it all starts to make sense suddenly.

I haven't done the Canadian EGR yet (but it's on the list, probably to be done if/when I get the 4-2-1 header I want) but I would imagine you could run the coolant lines in-line with the one coming out of the throttle body. Just need a foot or two of extra hose. And then, if you hit a wall and need to go back to stock until you solve the problem, you still can.

If you can do brakes, you can work out the EGR. I have confidence in you, young Padawan! :)

bath time and did a nice underbody wash- prep work for completely rebuilding exhaust and suspension this weekend (if parts come in)

on a side note- while leaving class last week a fellow student came up to my car and we talked about it. he though it was a mazda3 I explained to him it kind of was just not called that yet. we talked for quite a while he wanted to get a mazda3 stick but they were all expensive. so today I see the same kid, he's actually in one of my classes and I didn't even know. he told me he bought a 2003 midnight blue p5 (I guess I convinced him well enough) and wants to do many mods. I sad I'll help and told him about the forums. hopefully he joins!

^ Spread the love!

My car is in the shop right now. Vac leak is causing my map to throw off > causing the car to run lean > causing the O2 to throw a code. Hurrah! cause and effect. getting it smoke tested to locate the leak. Hoping to hear back any minute now

My rear passenger door lock hasn't been working so I grabbed an actuator at the junkyard this weekend. Installed it that day and I'm all good now!
