What have you done to your P5 today?

Nothing like a $0 fix. By the way, what paint did you use for the valence?

I used some cheap $3 gloss black from walmart. I'll post the exact brand when I find out cuz it's at home.

And how did you do it?

I masked off each piece separately with newspaper and tape and painted as much as I could. I had some nail polish remover handy just in case. I put about 3 coats on each piece. The valence was easier than that top plate. Use the newspaper as a shield if you touch up any missed spots.

Short shifter install.... how long does it take?

Depends if your heatshield bolts want to **** with you or not. My bolts didn't exactly want to play nice, so I just cut the heatshield off. That being said, maybe 30 mins, 1 hr if anything is rusty.

The valence on mine in full of little spider webed chipped marks.....ild have to sand those out but that does look good.....ild use a satin or semi gloss

Cursed it for eating a headlight bulb in a record time of about 5 days, 2 or more of which it was sitting undriven.

WTF? I know P5s have a reputation for being bulb-hungry, but mine was fine. Last week, Wednesday or Thursday I think, I replaced the passenger side bulb, and I noticed last night on the way home that it was dead already!

Grumblegrumblegrumble...

Defective bulb? I'd ask for a replacement from wherever you bought it...

Yeah....if it actually ate a good bulb ib a couple days you just set a world record....i usually replace mine every year....the high beam bulbs are good though...8 years and counting

yea the only chips i had were between that plate and the valence. i just cleaned then both off and started masking. good luck though, i'm sure you'll like the final result

car was washed and waxed this morning. trees are growing and all that crap is all over my car, and i couldnt stand it.

Took me about an hour including ripping off the heat shield, most of the time will be with putting in the bushings at the shifter itself since I don't have the tiniest of fingers to work in such a tight space at the bottom of the shifter.

i destroyed my heatshield as well when i had the TWM setup in my car. It wouldn't stop rattling against the Magnaflow so out it came

And pick up some snap-ring pliers

Not doing anything till I save up money for a dyno sesh.

Other than that just cleaning up the inside, engine bay, and tightening up my belts.

(have to do that often with the SC)

So my sister has my P5, and apparently there's a hail storm in Pittsburgh where she lives now. Please let that motherfucker get beat up like crazy. Total the damn thing. Get it out of my hair.
